What’s up with all the anti Windows 7 posts lately?

I switched from Gentoo to Windows 7 Platinum a few weeks ago, and I haven’t had a single issue so far.

It’s noticeably faster than any DE or WM I’ve tried, which honestly surprised me, especially considering I’m running an RTX 5090.

At first, I was worried about security and getting hacked. But it turns out I can install a fully up to date browser and a modern firewall, so that’s no longer a concern.

It’s also much easier to use overall. The UI is consistent, clear, and easy to read. Because of that, I installed it on my girlfriend’s laptop and my parents’ PC as well and they’re really happy with it.

I genuinely don’t understand why some people are so strongly opposed to it, especially considering the massive influx of AI generated packages Linux distros have seen in recent months.

>Why are bots spamming anti old windows posts on a microsoft sponsored forum?

Personally, I’ve been daily-driving Linux Mint for years, but the outdated packages, trannies ruining critical projects, audio breaking after nearly every update, and similar issues have become too much to deal with so I switched to windows 8.1

it's just one indian who's butthurt his XP era laptop can't run it
>>
>>107628858
8.1 is based
you can even make it look like windows 7 easily

Microsoft is angry people are switching to the only functional OS there is

Could you not replicate the experience in Gentoo and have more security and functionality?
I know you're a larping retard but you should really think before you type.
>>
>>107629257
Why would he waste time trying to replicate win7 experience on gentoo (He wouldn't) if he can just install windows 7?
>>
>>107629257
Are you not aware of the fact that hackers can read the source code of the operating system on linux?
>>
>Copy a binary compiled on windows 11 to windows 7

Linux will N.E.V.E.R.

I've been daily driving Arch for 11 years and finally I decided to just go back to Windows 7 because I don't have the time to deal with broken packages, shaky upstream, nonverbal autistic maintainers and nonfunctional audio anymore
Never looked back
>>
>>107628799
Some indian is extremely upset about a 16 year old operating system being 100 times more usable than his 80's server os that somehow renders graphics
>>
you jumped from meme time-sink distro to a crusty homebrew 16-year-old OS and then installed it on other people’s PCs. good job with the bait

I’ve been on Arch for only five years, but I decided to switch to Windows 7 too.
It literally just works.
I tried Linux Mint as well, but the crackling audio and blurry fonts were giving me a headache.
I even helped my friends install it too, lol.

KEK
The Linux Mint team kicked out most of their security managers and outsourced it to some AI scanner

Yeah fucking right. Nobody who at any point in their lives was autistic enough to install gentoo is ever going to go back to windows. You jeet shills need to come up with some more believable stories.
>>
>>107629291
no you can't. not only do you lack the skill to do this even if you wanted to, there's also just no way you could socially engineer anybody to download your pozzed kernel version.
it's more likely that you'll click on some pozzed .exe and get rootkitted like many wintards often do.
>>
>>107628799
Updooters...
I've been on freebsd for a few years and had gentoo on my laptop but decided to go back to w7 because I got tired of all the constant drama and people whining about shit nobody cares about rather than improving the software

i used to use gentoo and now i use windows
you're just wrong, and you always have been
>>107629849
you don't need to socially engineer anyone. all you have to do is write some code that's very subtly buggy in an insecure way, and then send it to linux torvalds - and if he doesn't catch the bug then you've succeeded in infecting the linus kernel.
if he does catch the bug? no big deal, just try again with a different fake email and fake name.

https://www.theregister.com/2025/11/18/linus_torvalds_vibe_coding/

This will only become easier as this demented cucklord bents the knee even more. I'm willing to bet all my life savings that there is an intentional exploit - state sponsored or not, in the linux kernel

You also have to remember that it's not just the kernel but the wide and far ocean of userspace programs that anyone can "contribute" to

Wasn't there malware discovered in the AUR a few weeks ago?

Someone also put a backdoor into xz (which allowed rce over SSH). It was only discovered through SHEER luck.
Also this prompts the question of why the fuck the SSH server is loading a compression library to begin with. Big spaghetti mess of jeet code which depends on a billion other libraries because the Linux OS has no libraries built-in like Windows does.
>>
>>107630142
Linux is literally a server operating system. I don't say this as a jab or anything, it was written from ground up with nothing but a shell in mind. I seriously think all those programmers are better off building a new *desktop* OS from scratch.

This is pretty much it for alternative desktops unless I'm missing something truly obscure
https://reactos.org/
https://www.haiku-os.org/
Both are perpetually unfinished unfortunately

People need to understand that beating a server into being a frankenstein desktop just does not work
>>
>>107630290
every problem with linux is precisely because of this
