ive seen a TINY bit of information on slackware, it seems to have a strong community from what i hear, and im thinking about using it a bit. not on my main machine though, just trying it out. what's /g/'s opinion on it?
the fact that the package manager doesn't handle dependencies makes it a completely invalid project
>>107635783just use sboui
>>107635832okay, so now we're talking about a distro that I can't trust to just let me start working after I install it. I need software from somewhere other than the distro itself, and the assumption that I won't be installing the OS and working on many different machines, so I can just leave an extra helper program on there and it's fine forever.
>>107636128 (me)Like, until that 3rd party program doesn't get updates anymore even though the main distro is still alive. Love how often that happens.
>>107635832I was baiting you into mentioning a third-party pacakge manager but I hadn't even heard of this one. That's how bad it is, they can't even agree on which one to use.
