it's easy arch, you can get into it and learn coming from windows without too much trouble.
if you want trouble just install arch straight away and learn the hard mode.
eventually you'll end up on arch anyway.

It's funny how Arch is a really good base OS to make usable distros on. SteamOS, CachyOS, none of those would be nearly as good if they were based on any other distro.

Idk, but archinstall wasn't getting me a useable de on my new laptop so I installed cachy. It just werked and it's just arch with some fluf and a custom kernel.

Don't use meme distros, use boring ones. Archinstall will work fine if you have a simple setup but I wanted a funky partition setup so I did it manually which the wiki will baby you through every important step so it's still trivial.

I like it. It plays my games without any hassle, and allows me to use a package manager without throwing a fit like Bazzite.

Here I'm wrestling to get cyberpunk to perform relatively well
I'm getting more controller/mouse input lag and it's running with about 15% less FPS, on AMD. With cachyOS game-performance flag enabled and all that. I'm expecting a slight performance hit but not the goddamn input lag, what the fuck is this

How surprising. Gaming on cachyOS turned out to be faster and more stable then on windows on my system. CP2077 has zero input lag here. running the GOG version with proton-cachyos.

Cachy is far more troubleshooting than regular Arch is ironically. But that's just my experience.

It's ok. No different to what one should expect form Arch with a GUI installer. I installed it on my laptop because I was too lazy to install Arch on it, but it is basically the same thing. I do avoid installing packages from their repos though, so it is possible that in the future some incompatibility with their packages and Arch's may arise.
