would debian survive without canonical support?
>>
Yeah, because if Canonical disappeared legions of normies will use the next closest thing, Debian
>>
debian existed for like 2 decades before canonical came along

canonical's only net positive contribution to desktop Linux in 25 years was mailing out free install discs when the Internet was shit and you couldn't just download ISOs, they have done nothing worthwhile since
>>
>>107649037
They can but at this point is like the Linux Kernel. Corporation will bleed too much money and the kernel will stagnate if they try to go their separate ways. Same with SUSE and openSUSE, Fedora and RHEL. Arch is preparing such a dependency with Valve, they already received a package signing server because pretty much all maintainers signed with their own computers.

All they do is give money to trannies and browns. What does it matter?

It's the other way around, zoomer tard

a lot of Debian devs are really just Canonical engineers paid to work on Debian afaik, they'd lose most of their upstream development. they're also a big sponsor of the project which already isn't financially stable. they'd have it rough.
>>
>>107649037
Don't care. Canonical have been totally captured by Microjeets themselves.
>>

this, i think a lot of people think open source is just random dudes doing their own projects in their spare time. the reality is that a huge amount of foss development, especially in large areas like games and virtualization and whatever else, is spearheaded by big corps like canonical and red hat and others. it's honestly the best of all worlds for the consumer. linux is an insanely good experience for something that is free, and it's open source to boot

Daily reminder that canonical support pedophiles.
>>
>>107649157
Unity was cool but they killed it, also ubuntu touch but they killed that too, so you're sadly right.
>>
>>107649848
Ur a pedofile
>>

>y-youre a pedo
Uh oh butthurt kiddydiddler alert.
Nigger, if I had a button that would kill all pedophiles I’d build a device that presses it automatically 50000000 times a day.
