Some femboy anon posted a thread here last night talking about how tired he was of using windows 11 and linux mint wasnt working for him so he ended up swapping to windows 7.

I didn't get to ask all the questions I wanted cause he disappeared and then the thread got deleted so I'll ask them here.

1. I only have one of those shitty external optical drives since pc company's stopped being cool and removed them, that should work fine if i have the windows 7 ultimate dvd?

2.When updating drivers they all say they wont be compatible, will it just be fine to download them and use them? if not where do I go for stuff like nvidia, amd, and other drivers I need?

3. apps like steam and others that say they don't work on windows 7, how do I get them to work? i'm a bit confused on everything.

I probably have a few more questions but I can't think of them right now and I have to get to work so I'll only be able to check this thread every now and then, thanks for any of the help
>>
tl;dr

That shit gets zero security updates. Only install it if you want a pet Korean to read all your e-mails. Don't bother.

idk man all of that stuff is still here. it's just that nobody uses it, not even (You).
>>
>>107652976
i have the tread saved where they went into detail on how to stay safe, etc. so i shouldnt have that problem.

>>107652987
i grew up using 7....... I prefer it over windows 11 and I'm not bothered to swap to linux since stuff just stops working. I'll eventually swap to linux when it's a bit more stable for my liking

Your funeral.
>>

1. yes. however, if you have a modern motherboard, you are gonna need to stream in your usb drivers to your iso otherwise you wont be able to move your mouse or keyboard when you run it. so you are basically forced to used a usb stick anyway. maybe a old school ps2 mouse keyboard wouldn't have that issue idk
2. legacy drivers are provided by amd im sure its the same for Nvidia.
3. this is your biggest issue. i was able to get steam installed on windows 7 theres some work around using the Internet archive or some shit but honestly if you are gayman then windows 10 makes more sense. i say this as a w7 user still.

That's way more tinkering than I've ever needed to do on Linux, I thought Windows was supposed to be easy?

>>107652834
How do you know he was a femboy? And why is it relevant?

>i'll spend hours tweaking and picking specific hardware and software to keep using 7

Ah, fair enough then.

Since w7 is EOL and vulnerable, might as well install without the updates or telemetry. Personally I ran this setup for 3 years without problem. It's been nearly 2 years though so my memory isn't the best.
You can use an ISO, you just need to integrate UEFISeven into the ISO.
If you use NVMe you need to integrate an update into the ISO.
If you have NVIDIA, you need to integrate an update into the ISO (some SHA-256).
The only drivers you need are USB 3.0, NVMe, GPU and LAN. If you have some other device, it may not work.
USB drivers are backported from Windows 8, I think Winraid forums was where they are.
NVMe driver is an update from Microsoft.
NVIDIA drivers are slightly broken, but are "secure". Personally I would use an older one, 441.41 was solid.
LAN on newer hardware will require you to run unsigned (edited), or if you have a PCI card from that era.
Intel 285k, Ryzen 9800X3D or 9950X3D etc. RTX 3090 will work on Windows 7. 3080ti does not if I recall, they ended support after 3080/3090 launch.
On Steam you had to add some command lines to get it working. Check the Windows 7 Reddit for the latest work around. Also I think VxKex worked (translation layer) but you always want to use native.
For a browser, use Superium.
Also you may need net framework 4.8 and C++ packages

Good luck OP.

Don’t fall for the psyop anon. Unless you’re gonna air gap it, just don’t. Whatever dumb shit they recommended will not protect your device or network.

>go out of my way to install an EOL closed source OS cause some faggot on /g/ said it was good
>fight for hours to get my literal USB ports working, not to mention my device can’t address more than 4gb RAM cause I downloaded the 32 bit version and I had to turn off secure boot and now my egpu is broken too
>have to use a different functioning OS to download a web browser that still supports this abandonware
>go to /g/ to brag about it once it’s done
>device is immediately owned by some Algerian who bought an ad on /g/ because my new install hasn’t been patched in decades
>Algerian proceeds to pivot from my windows 7 computer to my WiFi coffee maker, my smart tv, my WiFi cameras and every other piece of cool tech I own cause I’m a big tech guy who loves to consoom
>whole fucking house is going haywire, all my cheap tech slop is broken now and Algerian is now asking for bitcoin ransom
Guys have no idea how any of this happened I installed the firewall just like the guy on /g/ said???

>>107653613
Thanks man, if im being honest I'm probably just gonna use it on my old W530 thinkpad for a bit before making the switch on my main pc, just to get everything working and figure some stuff out

>Dumb cunt who can't get win 7 working and secure on modern hardware copes
Why don't you just admit your a tech illiterate retard with a skill issue instead of writing a paragraph of nonsense

Just download the iso off the internet. You can optionally make sure that it has not been tampered with by verifying the hashes. You can get the ISO from many websites, like this one, for example.
https://os.click
for drivers, you can just download them from vendor's website and even pre-include them in your iso with ntlite. for system updates, just use simplix updatepack. As for Steam, many anon's figured out workarounds to play the games anyway (you will need to look on desuarchives or somewhere on the internet, can't remember it at the moment, because I dont really use steam) , but honestly if you do not want to get kiked, you should rather pirate them. If you have more questions, just ask them, I am more than happy to help our fellow 7GOD avoid updooting to worse windows version (or even worse, becoming a linux tranny).
>>
i also had problems with linux mint, it didnt recognize my monitor. but it did work with bazzite so maybe try that. its a linux distro intended for gaming, be careful however it might break your windows installation

security updates don't matter if you are not retarded. Your computer is by default protected with your ISPs router, as it sits behind NAT with non-routable addresses. The rest is just the matter of not downloading malicious executables like a retard (same as on nuwindows). Muh exploits for browsers, image viewers etc. don't matter as well unless you are targeted by someone who is smart enough to actually utilize them in practice (90% of pajeet and russian hackers are too dumb for that). Put a dozen of rusty razors in your anus and sit down on your pink gaming chair, obsessed linux tranny.

>>107654082
>security updates don’t matter
>muh ISP will protect me with NAT
>only state actors can use browser exploits
Anon, I’d love to see a wireshark pcap of your idle windows box if you truly believe this shit

>retarded updooter
my best advice is just stay in win11
