>My college was clearing out old equipment, let me take 3 G3 Power Macs, two monitors, and a few keyboards and mice
>Kept them at dad's house
>Moved out to a new town, left most of my stuff
>Came back a year later to get the stuff I left
>He'd given away everything but one of the towers
Parental tech incompetence itt.

He doesn't want you to be gay, son.
>>
What were you planning on doing with them (assuming you weren't just going to resell them)?
>>
>>107657287
That's one way to "communicate".

What would you even do with those computers at this point? Install Linux and live on the terminal? I guess that's something but you could also do that on a pi and save electricity and not worry about the processor overheating or the ancient hard drive failing.

Marathon on a Pi is gay.

Use one for old programs, another for parts, third was also going to be for parts, but years later I had a friend who was interested in using one as a case for a mini build (and was starting to think of doing the same).
I was mostly pissed about losing the monitor. It's still a really pretty and functional piece of equipment.

I would probably just take out all the components and try to fit something modern in there, very cool case.

Exactly. If you really wanted to go at it, mod the display connector to turn it into a wireless display or something.

What kind of question is that?

Why not tell your dad not to give it away?

What would anyone do with them? The father gave them away to people that thought they were worth having, right?
>>
>>107657541
I did. It wasn't the first time he'd disappeared or caused me to lose my things, this wasn't a situation similar to the ones in the past, so I wasn't expecting it. In those cases, I always took precaution.

Why do you think he's like this?
