>buying an adapter and old ram
just spend the money on ddr5 at that point
>>

I hope some manufacturer starts making native SO-DIMM (m)ATX mobo for the poverty builds we're gonna see throughout the crisis. Would be a funny piece of hardware.

Japan will fix this

Japan is never taking back its manufacturing powerhouse status. The only things they still make are cameras, bicycle parts and capacitors.
>>
>>107657703
you get less per dollar, that's the whole gosh darn point
>>
>>107657666
Are these stable enough for production work?

Why don’t RAM manufacturers at least put a different colour around the notch so that people can be aware of it. Forcibly trying to insert the wrong type of RAM into a pc will not go well.
>>
>>107657687
i dont remember AI being a topic the biden administration was concerned with
>>
Just wait you fucking mongoloids You don't need to be on DDR5 now and if your motherboard is a older generation of ryzen just up your skew and focus on the GPU. This shit is fucking pathetic for minor gain.
>>
>>107657687
It was worth it see the faces of all the leftist scum and paco scum deported. I would gladly pay $100000000 a ram stick to see it all over again.
Perhaps next time you will be nicer to straight white men and not promote nutter trannys eh?
>>
>>107657822
it works but you usually cant run them at full speed
ive been doing it for years. every time a family member chucks an old laptop. free ram and ssds for the taking

Now laptop ram is going to increase in price as well.
>>
>>107657666
It won't matter. All of DRAM is compromised. Unless you're scalping 2400mhz DDR4 from old laptops in a landfill.
>>
>>107657985
I mean, it already has, just maybe slightly less than regular dimms but you still have to pay extra for the abopter
>>
>>107657985
32gb stick already doubled/tripled in price. I was watching this and wanted to buy in Nov...
>>
There is absolutely 0 chance you won't lose speed and features with these.
There is always a catch with adapters and going around issues like these.
>>
>>107658268
ofc. this is for extreme poorfags trying to scavenge laptops.
>>
>>107657960
the real cool trick is scavenging gpus out of laptops and adapting them for use in a desktop
>>
>>107658268
There's no reason why you'd lose speed, the SO-DIMM form factor is already the bottleneck. The adapter is basically just straight wiring. You just won't find SO-DIMM kits as good as DIMM ones.
>>

>AI companies buy all the RAM supply for the next 2 years

fuck yeah I did and I'll do it again if it makes liberals seethe and rope.

Some of us don't use a sledge hammer to install RAM.
>>
>>107657858

That'd add US$0,05. Think of the shareholders, anon.
>>
>>107657666
Sodimms are already expensive. This is a dumb and stupid fix.

Feels good to be a RAM chad.
>>
>>107658723
Maybe there are people that don’t even realise that the notch is even there. If they don’t know that there is a reason why the RAM can’t be used then they might try to use extra force. You need to idiot-proof stuff.
>>
>>107659116
The DDR4 and DDR5 notches are millimetres apart. Why didn’t they just put the notch further away from the notch of the previous model to avoid user error?
>>
