I'm sure it doesn't, over here none of the webp images I have show and thumbnails, they don't open in any of my image editors, if I send any over to my family they can't open it natively in messages without downloading it first (including webms), etc etc etc.

both webm and webp is fucking garbage for browsers. only reason webm even opens in anything else is because it is just a renamed mkv.
