You have 10 seconds to explain why your not using canoeboot
>>
>>107666128
My hardware is unsupported
>>
I'm kind of averse to using old, insecure and broken proprietary microcode over updated, more secure and stable proprietary microcode. Makes no sense.
>>
>>107666504
>having an actually libre bios is bad because I said so
>>
>>107666128
No microcode.
It's just libreboot with more license autism there's gnuboot if you want to go full autismo on it on supported hardware.
Running this on xx30 you're just missing microcode updates while running other proprietary soft/firmware
>>
Seeing as we're doing retro consoles now, how about ROMs for the various Amiga computers?
All we have is AROS and EmuTOS.
>>

If you want to make that deal with the devil, then that's your decision. You can accept and walk away satisfied with your hardware, but not before you learn what sacrifices to your freedom you are making, as part of the deal.
>>
>>107668854
Please explain what freedoms I have actually lost and how it measurably impacts me.
>>
>>107668918
Freedom to run, modify, share and sell copies, as you wish. It means the users control the program.
But without those freedoms, the developer controls the program, thus the developer controls the users. Usually these firmwares are under a variant of the BSD license, that restricts reverse engineering. You could ignore the restrictions and try to reverse engineer the firmware anyway, but it would be a criminal offense in most cases.
If you just want to run it, it would be fine, but should you one day decide you want to change it or give a copy to someone to make changes for you, that wont be so easy.

>>107668854
outdated microcode would literally kill my 14700K
>>
>>107666128
why should I care
>>
>>107669320
do you want malware running on your system, i wouldn't
>>
>>107669367
good thing I don't currently have malware on my computer
>>
>>107669387
how can you be so sure when you can't audit the code that's running on your system
>>
oh it's a schizo thread, should've assumed as much
>>
>>107666128
Because I don't have any machines old enough for that shit. I don't use e-waste.
>>
>>107669403
it's up to you to prove that the proprietary blobs, bios, and os that's running on your system is not malware
>>
>>107669403
You're right. Schizo thread. Just look at this faggot acting like he's owed an explanation >>107669421
