Switching to Linux for gaming seems to be the popular thing these days and Steam is the choice for it. Whereas on Windows using GOG I can actually own my game and keep a copy of it, I'm not leasing it if the platform decides to just take shit back. Windows has better software support and freedom.

You still dont own your games on GOG, either.

Until US law says I own digital media just like I own food I purchase at a restaurant or a product I buy from a store, I'm not paying for games. If everyone pirated, we'd already have DMCA and copyright removed in western society. Currently we have jew overlords and everyone is cattle.

The solution? Leave america so you dont have to follow US copyright law or refuse to use any platform that abides by US copyright/DMCA law.

Sloppiest garbage ever. It takes literal nigger iq to pay for a shitty, generic, underperforming DosBox config with a bunch of defiled, preinstalled 2005 abandonware website era downloads.

>Switching to Linux for gaming seems to be the popular thing these days
No it doesn't, and you know it too
>Steam is the choice for it.
Steam is the choice for everything whenever it's available, sheeple eat that shit up
>Whereas on Windows using GOG I can actually own my game and keep a copy of it, I'm not leasing it if the platform decides to just take shit back
This is great (I'm ignoring the fact that barely any new games are published on GOG now and that you don't legally "own" the games but it is as close to ownership as it's possible for proprietary software to be, and also it's not like you ever need a license for games), though you don't need windows for that.
>Windows has better software support and freedom
I absolutely agree.

Why are you implying you cannot use GOG on Linux
It's just a website

You dont "own" your games. But if you have the freedom to run, modify, share and sell copies, then it's close enough.
>>
>>107668510
GOG supports linux its just that galaxy doesn't.
>>
>>107668510
Why the specific mention of Windows? Just get Heroic Games Launcher on Linux and install your GOG Games with 1 click. Or just get the offline installer from GOG and install it via Lutris, Bottles, Faugus, non Steam Game, heck even native Wine.
>based for mentioning gog
>gay for mentioning windows
sane people have their favorite games drm free, backed up and ready to install, even without interjeet.

Controller and fmv support for older games has been dogshit on Linux.

Actually EULA for most games even indies if they use steam say you cant modify, sell or even share your copies of digital software. And you must obey their copyright otherwise you're breaking US federal law. That's why steam doesnt allow you to sell your account.

You also cant copy your games 5 times like say you have multiple servers and also want to copy your games onto bluray, can't do that. That's wrong for a product you paid for. If I go to buy tools from a store, the store doesnt get to come to my house and take them because that would be theft.

Copyright law is theft, it steals a product everyone intrinsically agrees that you own, and makes you agree to a perma-rental service where they can revoke and steal your hard earned money at any point in time for any reason. That's wrong and ignores all of human history.

So if I'm going to be treated as a criminal federally in the US for copying games I bought or archiving them, why even buy games? Better yet why even live in the US? No freedom for items you bought with your hard earned money, but in Russia you have that freedom, though.

that will never happen gnutard

lmao, even

US digital copyright law is pure jewry that ignores 2000+ years of human history in regards to ownership. The only reason they can get away with it is because people allow it and the US is no longer a free society, its glownigger jew controlled.

They cant do this with food, cars or physical items in the same way because people would literally rebel and go fucking ape shit.

Though they already try this still with seed patents and taxes for land/houses in the US, but the jewry can only go so far before the goyim notice.

Not really, steam input fixes ecactly that and many controller rebinding/macro tools are inspired by it. The Steam Deck and the upcoming steam controller in combination with steam input are for games without controller support at all.
>>
>>107668510
my guy all you do is get the same games and run them as non-Steam installations through Steam for the same ease-of-Proton. if there's something Steam-specific you're SoL regardless. it's impossible not to realize this within 5sec of writing your OP.

>Whereas on Windows using GOG I can actually own my game and keep a copy o
weird thread, since you can do the same thing on linux with gog
>>
>>107668883
just got done playing the new 2D terminator game on lutris with my PS4 controller and it ran great. The only controller issues I've had were from games made before 2000 and even still they were able to work with some fiddling.
