Will 2026 finally be the year of the RISC desktop?
It could also be the LoongArch desktop as well, as that has backing from China.
>>107676470>GoonArch
>>107676454it will never be. even microsoft gave up on porting windows to another arch (arm). they were able to port the base system. but without any application supporting it, and the fact that you can't just take autocad source code and compile it for arm makes it near impossible to use windows on non-x86 archs. on linux the story is different, with historical multi arch support for ppc and other big endian architectures.

>>107676454No.Next question.
>>107676454lol
>>107676454it's a scam. doesn't work in practice. without enough fab houses and current players hogging them there's no way for this to work out
>>107676706EU will make it work
>>107676470redpill me on roongarch
>>107676454yes (mac mini)
>>107676526two more weeks
>>107678335Look at any OS usage statistics the graph for Windows is going down drastically for years if this speed continues it will be dead in another 5 years
>>107678335It's in the process of dying NOW.
>>107678079It's MIPS with the serial number filed off.
>>107676506>you can't just take autocad source code and compile it for arm makes it near impossible to use windows on non-x86 archsWhy can't someone just take existing x86 binaries and lift them to IR then recompile into arm or risc?
>>107676506Prism can run x86 on ARM with no problems. It's honestly the only good thing Microsoft has made this decade.
