I just don't get it
What have we done to you
I and many of my colleagues in the animation industry have been unemployed for months due to the current climate. Yet, you all seem to rejoice in our suffering. You promote ai usage, call us luddites and the like.
We have made the work that you all enjoy on a daily basis and all you seem to do is spit in our faces.
It's incredibly demoralizing and even a bit pathetic on your part.
Grow up and be better

God, you artfags are insufferable. RAM going up is totally worth it, hell, the inevitable AI bailout with our taxes will be worth every single penny.
>>
>>107677346
Just be better than AI. If you're not, then your product was never that good in the first place.
>>
I have anyone who's more talented than I am. I was born with no innate skills, so that means I'm going to make every one of you "creative" faggots suffer. I'm glad AI exists and is replacing all of you.
>>

It can’t beat a child’s game of Pokemon from the first era. No it’s never happening.

I used to be a steam machine mechanic, then a fucking diesel was invented. What did the steam do to you, you monster?

I was better than AI. How the fuck else would I have had an industry job?
I grinded the fundamentals, I endured what you have never attempted. Yet I was still usurped

I don't see how wanting basic fucking decency is insufferable
>>
>>107677346
>I and many of my colleagues in the animation industry
We hate you because you treat art as an "industry" that exists to turn labor into money.
Art is supposed to be made for humanity for free because you want people to see your vision and share in your ideas.
Art is not supposed to be a factory industry that seeks to empty my wallet.
And guess what, AI lets people turn their visions into a tangible and shareable format with ease. You do not.
>>
>>107677346
Every single artist is severely mentally ill
Most artists are huge narcissists who think they're better than everyone else and should be worshipped for being able to draw fanart
The only utility you artfags have in society is drawing commission porn of copyrighted characters you don't own the rights to. But when AI does the same you cry about IP theft
I hope from the bottom of my heart that AI puts every single artfag out of a job and you have to go back to working at McDonalds

Blatant masturbatory troll thread made by one of the same 5 people that will nonetheless reach over 300 replies just like every other disingenuous AI thread perpetuated by bitter retards that don't even have a computer that can do LLM stuff locally.

wanting "basic fucking decency" is unrealistic as profit and convenience always wins, and complaining to random people online who obviously can't do anything to stop it makes you insufferable. hope this helps
>>
Most people don't get to make money in art, it's more luck of the draw who gets to make a living just from drawing and commissioning artwork.
You managed to live at the tail end of a 25 year period where you had just enough audience reach to sell your works without running afoul of copyright law selling porn of characters you don't even own the rights to.

I think the worst part is how artists feel entitled to make their whole living from drawing, it's not a real fucking job and produces no value, historically, it was privileged youth who had the free time to dedicate their life to art, art was a masturbatory hobby for the rich much like college education up until like 50 years ago.
>>
>>107677504
>Art is supposed to be made for humanity for free
Also food, water, shelter, technology, education, and medical care, right?
>>
>>107677346
Because the large majority of modern artists are woke and actually don't know shit about at. I'm an amateur and can still draw and animate better than professional artists. Heck didn't those guys in expedition 33 btfo the large majority of artists while having zero experience? Before that cup head btfo the professional artists easily. Go back to making gay shit like Steven Universe.
>>
>>107677346
we need artists to have better more varied datasets for training but neither of us make money. gg
>>
I don't hate artists though

It sucks AI blindsided and took your jobs. It was hard enough as it is
>>
>>107677595
No those are necessities
I'm not saying that everyone should have access to free art. I'm saying that if you make art, it should be because you enjoy the process and because you want to contribute to the world with your ideas.
If you only want to make art so you can drain people's wallets like a parasite or demand to get worshipped for it, fuck off
>>
>>107677611
AI art is boring, meaningless, and soulless. If you can't beat AI you're a shit artist.
>>
>>107677638
Obviously an artist is going to beat an AI

But they're competing with what is basically a "free" service
>>
>>107677638
skill issue. indians just flood the web with slop
>>
>>107677630
>No those are necessities
All the more reason for them to be free. Or you're saying it's ok to drain people's wallets because they have no choice and those are things that they need?
>>
>>107677712
real people's time went into producing those goods and services, you're basically asking for slavery, people should be compelled to provide those services to you by force.
>>
>>107677690
>"free" service
saas won't be free forever
>>
>>107677712
I think there's a misunderstanding
I'm saying art is not a basic necessity like the things that you have listed, it doesn't fit in the same category or train of thought. What you said seemed pretty irrelevant.
However the basic necessities you listed (except "technology") should indeed be free, and in most first world countries, they already are.
>>
>>107677721
What? But if farmers like farming, it should be because they enjoy the process and want to contribute to the world.
>>
>>107677346
There is nothing wrong with artists. You just shouldn't expect others to comfort you.

>You promote ai usage
Why is that a problem? I don't owe you anything. You should use AI too. Find out how can you integrate it into your workflow and create new or better things.
>>
>>107677795
duplicating, transmitting and distributing intellectual property, eg. artwork costs basically nothing but an unmeasurable amount of electricity, it's not at all comparable to extracting real value from the earth
>>
>>107677766
They shouldn't
In the real world, the weak go off to perish. If you starve or go broke, it was because darwin declared it so. If society collapsed right now, you'd be a weakling getting his rectum busted by the likes of me.
>>
>>107677828
Unfortunately for you, we live in a society
>>
>>107677595
>food
Literally grows on trees though
>water
Definitely free. Go to any restaurant, sit down. Heck, walk into a fast food place which doesn't do free refills and ask for some water. Yes everyone expects you to buy a meal, guess what else they also expect? You guessed it: people to not die of dehydration in a world with drinking fountains everywhere! (Grocery, library)
>shelter
A city large enough to have social services generally also does have at least one emergency shelter, yeah I also think homeless people should have rights too thanks for bringing it up
>education
Yes actually. To learn is mostly free. I guess a society working to increase literacy is worth more than one who would rather do nothing.
>and medical care
Not necessarily, see, this one comes down to explicit rights. Tending to rights currently has this associated factor called "cost" which keeps trying to implicate money for some bizarre reason

My view is, the skilled medical professionals need their access to rights first, or the service does not really exist. Everything else here is actually easily done in a self-service system.
>right?
Mostly, of course. Technology is literally meant for improving quality of life and ultimately ending the age of labor

How do you do that without the "creating"?
>>
>>107677945
if one person could donate a few hours of their time to pick apples and then duplicate their bushel of apples for free so everyone can have one, it would be more comparable to drawing art and posting it on the internet.
>>

I can gloss over anything, actually.

See, as the sole domain expert on artificial superintelligence, I have a consulting value symmetric with... Let me check in on how the simulation is evolving real quick. ... ............. An infinity stone!

Hey look at this real fun scenario: your diplomatic AI just went off the rails and assassinated your ally's diplomat! Now, why did it go and do this, I wonder? Oh, of course we should hire an investigator/debugger! Entirety of world politics glossed over instantly, and already aired when Travelers came out.

Now, to deal with your fun little case of "individual human needs..."

Food still grows on trees. The simple solution was to live near a river, plant fruit orchards, and... Oh, you actually WANT to live out of harmony with nature? Well... I suppose... It could work. Somewhat. Are you comfortable wage slaving for a couple centuries, roping everyone else in with you?
>>
I don't care for the disrespect of artists in the tech community. I certainly think anyone calling themself an artist or AI artist for generating a picture is a retard.
But, the huge number of utter amateur artists who never had any real prospects coming out of the woodwork pretending they were going to have a real career in art if it weren't for AI is utterly ridiculous. You're either big enough that its inevitable your style will be imitated, or a nobody looking for attention. I've engaged in piracy for decades, why should this be any different? You're not fucking special.
>>
>>107677346
Hey, we're programmers. We're being replaced, too.
And this actually has concequences.

You're being replaced by AI and all that changes is that characters now wobble and warp around in unnatural ways.
We're being replaced by jeets with AI and planes crash, every market crashes, medical equipment kills people.
>>
>>107677346
I love artists even if they are troons and commies (i don’t share their political beliefs tho) however they created all the culture on the internet.
>>
>>107677507
That's entirely different, I can't believe you're presenting a real human with a soul parodying a character and an AI model doing the same as the same.
Those things are NOT the same, because, they're just not, okay

...I'll have to ask Bluesky why you are wrong real quick, I'm sure it's actually obvious

Why don't I ever see good artists screeching and watermarking their pics with AI poisoning filters and generally spamming deranged screeds any time someone says something indifferent or even positive about AI?
It's always unskilled retards who make digital art their entire personality.
