Windows 8 had proper memory management which made it faster than 7 despite the new bloat. And with Windows 10 they added even more bloat and "muh security hardening" which fucked the performance again.

Were you around using computers at the time? The reason 8 moved to that interface was to copy smartphones and make computing "more accessible" but the problem is how far it deviated from how pcs were used at the time that users really complained about relearning basic things
