>grab a car alternator
>remove the diode bridge and voltage regulator (none of it will damage the motor part)
>soldier 10 guage wires to the contact points of the brush holder to magnetize the rotor with 12 volts
>get a 3 phase ebike controller
>connect the controller to the 3 stator contacts(if there are 4 the thickest one is not used) and get the right combination
>magnetize the rotor with 12 volts and supply 48 volts to the stator
>put the whole thing on a junk bike and do 50mph
