deepin is more lightweight but i get more stuff done with gnome. it has better shortcut keys and a better launcher

I'm not a fan of WMs that exclusively support tiling either, but most are hybrid and you aren't forced to choose from one display method. i use a customized Openbox that behaves sort of like i3.
