Which audio codec and bitrate settings do you prefer to listen to your music?
>>107691406Whatever happens when I hit play
>>107691406At home, I just play the source FLACs or whatever the original source format is. For the phone, I use Opus at 64kbit for stuff I don't listen to often and 96kbit for things where more quality is required. For the car radio, MP3 at 192kbit.
>>107691406Whatever the source is, otherwise flac and opus
>>107691406Well I just got my hands on some chrome tapes so we'll see how those sound compared to all of the usual ones I've been using
should i use opus beyond 150kbps? most of opus around are between 132 and that. more should i go higher for better quality lets say 256? to match and be sure im getting better quality than mp3@320kbps?
>>107692021No. opus is transparent at a variable bitrate setting of 128k. If you don’t trust me, trust the people behind the codec: https://wiki.xiph.org/Opus_Recommended_Settings.
6 channel flac
>>107692051>96k 24bit
my car, tablet and phone all play flac, so I only play flac or source (vinyl)
>>107692042thanks, ill read more into it later. but in your experience/opinion, would i get a better quality opus@128 than a mp3@320?ive never encoded it on my machine, my experience with opus is from youtube music, and god knows where or how they get or encode that. everything is on flac/ape. i recently download some mp3@320 and i found some of it doesnt sound that great.
10 years ago v0 now flaci can't hear any difference btwi just have storage space now
>>107692262>would i get a better quality opus@128 than a mp3@320Yeah
>>107691406>retard has been creating the same thread for over 5 yearsgo away, retard.
>>107692177>anything greater than 128kbps MP3 is snake oil, guys!this is why losers like you are kept well away from any kind of audio archiving. posting on 4chan seems to be a massive stretch for that remaining iq point of yours.
