It's that time of the year to do some planning.

What tech do you use for organization?
Obsidian? Notion? Google Suite? Old notebook and a pencil?

Just remember stuff, retard.
All of those things are productivity cope

what if i forget to remember

I always want to use something like Notion but it's way too much work to make it good. Pen and paper is the best. If I need something digital the best tools simple apple notes.

Don't waste your brain's computational power if you can just write it down bro

You will spend more brain power building some cringe second brain.
Rather than just remembering the few important things.

I have an Obsidian vault that I used for daily notes for a better portion of this year. But then it turned into a mess and I simply dropped it, it was never working 100% and I always had to tweak it a little bit every time I used it.

Are there any simple and free Obsidian vault templates one can use?

works every time.
works everwhere™.

another vote for notes.txt
just throw it in a dropbox/onedrive/whatever kind of tool and have it everywhere
well in my case it's more like:
work.txt
leisure.txt
bookmarks.txt
temp.txt
temp(2).txt

but concept is the same, never trust an app with your notes:
>you get asked for money. Can you even imagine how stupid it sounds to pay a company to manage your .txt files?
>if it's "free" it means: a) it's limited or/and b) ads are shown or/and c) your notes are datamined or/and d) the comfy dropbox functionality is paid
>you put your stuff in their proprietary blobs and will not export it back or the exports will be mangled bullshit

I use a Dokuwiki instance as my detailed memory - mostly my trip itinerates, and details of the software I'm self-hosting. I also use Planka as a kanban board for the stuff that's not quite solid yet - so 'to do' lists, projects I've started (like where I'm at with re-doing all my music metadata), and so on.

(classic) outlook, since I am gainfully employed, of course
