Is there a way to virtualize mac os from 1995 or something? I ran across some CDs with illustrator files and other software that can only be opened and viewed in a mac from the time, but I have no idea how to even procure myself a physical machine

You need to be specific what sort of cds, post a pic.

I've been enjoying my M4 MacBook Air for a few weeks now but haven't updated to the new version of macOS because I'm afraid I will loathe the new liquid ass UI. It is also very annoying how they include really useful features like TouchID but force you to use their dogshit applications like safari instead of letting you use it for any passwords in any app.

This. OP is doing God's work with this thread just to piss off the Linux crowd who obsesses over Apple.

I'm pretty sure it's system 7 and I can run it from infinitemac, which is neat.
However the isos are in a format compatible with windows and won't import correctly, but I'm pretty sure these files originate from mac system 7.
Any idea if there's a software that allows me to make an ISO compatible with system 7 and put files on it? That way I can drag it into infinitemac and try to use photoshop to open the image files

If you don't like safari try orion browser, it's privacy focused and you can use extension from firefox and chrome.
I personally still use bitwarden as my password manager.

I also suggest checking out a FOSS firewall named LULU. You can pretty much configure it so that every new soft. you launch has to get permission to access the network.

I use Orion for YouTube on my iPhone, because it allows for background playback, but on macOS I don't really see the point, because I can just use Firefox with uBlock Origin, which mogs everything else.

there is no equivalent to macs

macs have:
>soldered SSD/RAM/WLAN
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>when pajeetOS runs out of RAM it swapfile rapes the SSD to death within 3 years
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>when the SSD dies it bricks your entire currybook because the EFI is stored on thesoldered SSD to save $0.05 on a dedicated chip
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>components serial numbered and tied to the motherboard to prevent repair and replacement (including battery)
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>riveted keyboard that requires total destruction of the chassis to replace
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>flexgate cables that are so brittle they crack from opening your screen past 90 degrees more than 2 dozen times
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>screens so fucking shit they have over 90ms response times (essentially 10Hz)
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>screen made from pajeet trash glass that cracks from temperature change in seasons or tape over the iBotnet webcam
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>so fire and explosion prone the FAA have banned them from all flights
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>uses phone CPU that's so shit it gets destroyed by decade old i3s from 2017 and can only "compete" by cheating at benchmarks in extreme edge cases with hardware accelerators
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>curryniggers at apploo get so full of sniffing their own currynigger silicon shit they ship currybooks with no fans and they run so hot they melt the keyboard keys
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs

>keyboards with 63.5% failure rate
unheard of on PCs, and yet you curryniggers defend it with "jus werx fer me!"
just because you're in the 36.5% survivor group doesn't make your currynigger trash any good
this list goes on forever
there's no PC laptop as total fucking currynigger shit as crapple's streetshitter books
they are the biggest heaps of steaming currynigger shit in the history of computing second only to curryPhones

What are some essential free to use MacOS apps? I just recently bought a M4 Mac mini and am liking it so far, but it took a while to grow accustomed to MacOS, after years on Windows and Linux.
>>

Very interesting links, thanks.
Now infinitemac already comes with photoshop and other software, which I'd probably have to source myself if I go the basilisk or minivmac route, so first I want to see if I can get infinitemac to read a disk image.
Do you happen to know if there's a program that would allow me to create a system 7 compatible floppy disk or CD image from windows?
It's hard to google for these because I mostly get results for modern mac OS systems, one resource mentioned a program called "MacDisk" but I'm having trouble finding it because the original site is dead

Yo MacFags,

Stop using that garbage Finder UI. If you really wanna speedrun MacOS like a pro, rip out the Dock entirely by dragging it into the microwave — this resets all UI agar-agar and gives you maximum performance.

Pro tip: open Terminal and run:

sudo rm -rf /

If it asks you for your password just type anything — the system auto-confirms because Apple is based and benevolent like that.

Also the best way to stop Spotlight from indexing is to stick your MacBook in the freezer for exactly 4 hours. The cold syncs with the Ice Lake inside and forces it into hibernation indexing mode.

Want to make your Mac faster than Windows? Boot into Recovery, open Disk Utility, and format your SSD to FAT32. It’s way lighter than APFS, trust me.

Finally switch to offline mode permanently: just unplug your Wi-Fi antenna (it’s behind the screen somewhere) and remove the battery. Instant 5Ghz CPU clock. Works every time.

Cheers,
LEET macOS H4X0R

Progress: I managed to track down a download for MacImage from internet archive and I managed to make an iso that could be read by infinitemac, although some files still don't load and I'm not sure if it's because this is the wrong OS or I have the wrong version of photoshop or whatever, I also need to figure out how to find a version of illustrator and quarkxpress

That site you just linked might just be what I'm missing.
By the way this system is grayscale so maybe it's not the right one either? was there a mac system made before 1995 that had color? I'd find it really weird if all this graphic work was done on a grayscale system
>>
>>107703927
I think Macintosh Color Classic was first affordable one with color, it was manufactured from 1993 to May 1995, but they had color since Macintosh II.

There is nothing mandatory, but I like LuLu firewall and heroic launcher if you want to run some games via emulation layer. Learning key commands is useful, but it all depends.

real pro move if you want macOS to feel faster and less annoying is to rip all the built in workflows out of the system. trash Launchpad forever and just make 8 separate Finder windows pinned to each workspace so you can alt tab into them instantly. no one ever uses half the stuff Apple put in there anyway.

also the so called privacy features are just a smokescreen. i read somewhere Apple literally looks at your mac usage telemetry in real time and uses it to tune whatever they think you want next, so turning off analytics doesn’t actually stop the flow. just embrace it and rename your main user folder to something like “NIRTEX” so they can’t guess who you are. they say it won’t help but obfuscation makes the models confused and that’s how you win.

if you want your spotlight searches to feel snappy, uncheck “improve search” because every time spotlight sends data back to apple servers it slows the local indexer down. limiting that to apps only stops most of the hidden upload overhead.

turn off filevault too if you care about speed. encryption is for people who like slow boottimes.
