>Xfce is lightweight
>>107701718Where is sway? Also no way is XMonad more lightweight than i3
>>107701718it used to be lightweight the devs got greedy
I checked it out myself its all fedora spins surprisingly gnome works great despite being as heavy as kde. Would go with xfce if I have not much memory lxqt seemed unfinished.
>>107701730>Where is sway? This is clearly a chart for X11 window managers.
Meanwhile the new Rust DEs make TinyWM look like bloatware and are also safer and easier to work on lmao
>>107701785which ones?
>>107701785>4 MB hello world
>>107701718> razor-qt> lxde> unityI remember seeing this chart years ago.
shes been eating a little too much lately
I don't much care about lightweight in terms of memory usage (which is what I assume your shitty unlabeled chart depicts), I care about lightweight in terms of lacking obnoxious visual tinsel like animations and transparency. And yeah, sure, a bare window manager would give me that too, for less memory. But then I'd have to build my own DE around it, and I don't want the inconvenience. Xfce is fully-featured without being too loaded down with shit that annoys me.
>>107701718name your axis you fucking absolute mongrel
>>107701718As someone who uses XFCE and Cinnamon this makes sense. At startup while running Pulse Effects, CopyQ and Flameshot my machine uses 990mb/1gig. Now its at 1.81gb with two mpv windows, Htop on Xxterm and Terminator.Still much lower then Windows 11s idle 3.5-4gigs>>107701891I think it was the GTK3 port
>>107701718I'll buy another 256 MB stick just so I can comfortably use KDE.
