What holds it up from being considered a beginner-friendly distro, like Ubuntu or Linux Mint?
>>
>>107703818
The people making it don't give a flying fuck about making a free desktop distro.
>>

No codecs. Idk about other editions but Fedora KDE at least lets you ENABLE the NVIDIA driver repo in the welcome screen, but it still doesn't have a similar option for codecs.

>Fedora
They got the corpo rot and no one likes to be a beta tester. Thats why everyone is on Arch, we goated with steam.
>>

Not "just working" out of the box. Basically codecs and such as other anons said.
Also being the first distro to announce "using AI" for its code in the future isn't well seen in many people's eyes.
Fedora has become the bastard child of linux, for anyone that know what they're doing there's only 2 options: Debian and Arch. For anyone being a noob there's serious forks of those too. But for fedora there's only meme forks.

I always had more issues trying to get shit to work on Fedora.
Since the late 2000s.
Everytime there's something that I can get to work on different distros that becomes just a pain in the ass in Fedora. Sometimes it's hardware, sometimes it's some software, but there is always something. It's like Fedora's trying to play difficult. Oh look at me your tweaks won't work on me, you have to do something else, have fun figuring it out you silly boy teehee.

>kek look at red hat over there with their meme distro
>hahaha pathetic fools
>anyways, time to embed the most egregious parts of their code base into ours

Fedora is really popular. It was one of my first distros to daily drive. It's just hard to recommend to beginners, because of the all FOSS codecs, just like openSUSE. Beginners don't want to swap codecs, get proprietary drivers etc.

Because it just works. Linux community prefers a pile of shit as an OS.

For people like that I just recommend one of the universalblue spins.

You need RPM fusion to get codecs installed and also switch Flatpak repository to Flathub. A beginner wouldn't want to bother with that and neither should they

Beta test distro.
>>
I've been using ganoo/loonix since before the retarded zoomers on this site were born, once in a while I will try Fedora because people keep talking about it but it's always just ass. So many little things broken that work fine in other distros, even more niche ones, every single time, and on top of that there was just never any particular reason to use it over whatever was the "standard" PC distro at the time.
The meme is true, Fedora only really exists so people can beta test RHEL for free.
>>
>>107704434
Nope, not the same guy, but Arch just werks.

I'm a Fedora user, there are dozens of us.
