If you use the GNU Image Manipulation Program, there is something wrong with you mentally. It is the only thing preventing me from using a Linux-based OS on a permanent basis. I need Photoshop to work and WINE is buggy as shit. The GIMP is a shit alternative.Prove me wrong. Why would anyone deliberately use this garbage?
>>107705635it was extremely funny watching people finding out in real time about photopea.com and realizing some random fag's weekend project is better than this Linux "software"
>I have a usecase that requires I use something other than LinuxWhat the fuck is this gay thread. Use whatever you need to use to do whatever you're doing.
I just boot up a Windows VM in Qemu (and RDP window forward) whenever I need a specific Windows application. I actually use VMs a lot, I have a separate Linux distro in a VM too for work stuff when I work from home, so I don't have to taint my own system with Fortigate VPN crap and also can just save my work session straight to disk.
>>107705635Okay, jeet.>Use case?>Do you need PS for work?If you really need Adobe, you probably have a Macbook for work, so whats to problem? Or are you just one neetjeet, that got a pirated copy and pretents so NEED it? Just use GIMP. Show me one piece of work you did with PS.
>>107705681>Okay, jeet.even though jeets can't afford Photoshop so they use GIMP
>>107705635its really fun for animated gifs, and provides a sort of 90's magic website vibe when you optimize for gif over colour gradientsvery tedius, but if gimp 3 stops crashing it'd be alot easier with mass select.also (+ AI script-fu) is under appreciated
>>107705681First time phone posting. High IQ people will still be able to read it.
>>107705686wow, can you please do one with Tux and GNU?
Is there a paint.net equivalent that isn't pinta? Middle tier editor with sane settings? (Like escape deselects)
>>107705700good excuse to try gimp 3 again.i'll see what i can do.
>>107705635You should use superior software
It's free and not an Adobe product. I know it's shit but I don't really care, people who need Photoshop to do their jobs are sodomites. My only real grievance is that 3.x took so fucking long to come out that the plugin ecosystem has just rotted away.
>>107705730Ask Gemini to code it for you and it's one python script
>>107705750Chop chop, Anon. What do we pay you for?
>>107705635the biggest problem with gimp is gtk
>>107705635I use Krita.
>>107706083You pay the bank anon,I get permissions to spend authorized a pos ;)
>>107705685>can't afford the program that's almost famous for being pirated every single time by every home user>indians can't afford this because a country known for scamming would never break any lawsIs this the dumbest post in the world?
>>107705635the problem is normies. I studied GIMP's engine GEGL since 2021 and made plugins for it since May 2022 and to this date hardly anyone is making GEGL plugins for GIMP. normies act like GIMP team promises them stuff as if they are entitled. but they never want to do the work themselves or contribute by reporting bugs. I can make gold text in GIMP instantly because I put thousands of hours studying theories on how to do it. https://github.com/LinuxBeaver/GEGL-GIMP-PLUGIN_Gold_sharp_bevel/releases/tag/Gimp_Gold_Bevel_Text_Style_Plugin
GIMP has the ability to write GEGL syntax in GEGL Graph and then turn it into a custom GEGL plugin by writing .c code. The syntax turns into a plugin with sliders and its NONDESTRUCTIVE in GIMP 3.0.4 and 3.0.6
Nodes in GIMP's GEGL are just as complex as nodes in Blender. There is no difference in the complex potential that they hold. The only difference is that GEGL only shows its nodes in text only mode where as in Blender nodes are in a friendly GUI.(unless you count Activey's new project for a GEGL only UI)
>>107705635>Why would anyone deliberately use this garbage?its a more powerful mspaintjust unfilter yourselfwine IS buggy doe. perfect reason to avoid wasting time on vidyaslop
>>107705635>wanna make a cool plugin in Gimp>oops, can't do that with our license>oops, even its users are poorfagskek.

>>107705635I have used gimp for all of my photo editing needs since I was a kid.Maybe gimp sucks but I'm so used to it now that anything else feels weird to me.
>>107707350even the most recent big update threw me for a little bit of a loop. it was literally exactly the same since like 2016 lol
>>107705635Use inkscape?
Before GIMP 3 my plugins were not non-destructive unless I used 2.99.19
