Am I retarded or a genius? Gonna hook it up to an external monitor and unironically install Gentoo on it.
looks pretty cool, name?
>>107709926thos keyboards are to tiny they could have made it a little bigger and with a none standard keyboard layout but with regular sized keys. Also its to big for just thumb usage
>>107709936Goes under many names on different sites but one is the Topo 7 inch. Can pretty much do everything but you gotta use an external keyboard and an external monitor to make a poor man's desktop. The biggest pain in the ass is the built in keyboard, your BMI has to be like 20 to have a good typing experience.
>>107709926If you didn't buy a win gpd then you're retarded, the micro pc 2 just came out.
>>107709979This isn't for gayming this is for actual productive Linux workflows. I did test it out with gaming real quick using EndevourOS + Wine and anything prior to 2010 it can run reasonably well, but anything beyond 2015 is going to be a shitty experience. This isn't as bulky as the GPDs and it resembles a normal scaled down laptop without the gaymer aesthetic. The one thing that GPD smashes this for is obviously gaming, but GPD has thunderbolt 3 so you can use an eGPU, which makes it decent for gaming.
>>107710021I didn't mention anything about gaming? The micro pc isn't what I would choose for gaming. Hell, I have a pocket 4 for work and I wouldn't even choose that specifically for gaming (although it handles games just fine). The micropc 2 isn't bulky, and is equivalent to like a 2018 laptop i7 since you can get an N300 in it.
>>107709926Which one did you get? I only have a GPD microPCYou end up holding it like a Blackberry to type normally.
>>107709926Anything smaller than an windows 7-era atom netbook is too small to be usable for anything at all no matter what its specs are. Unless your use case is literally just bringing it around and connecting it to external monitors and keyboards, you're likely to end up just putting it in the drawer after installing your meme OS on it and tinkering for a few days.
>>107710085Lmao, spoken like someone who doesn't do any actual real work. I carry my pocket 4 around 24/7 as I'm always on call for emergencies and it handles everything just fine. The difference between a 8" machine and 13-15" machine is fucking huge for portability and usability.
>>107710104imagine being proud of being a 24/7 wagie ready to kneel before master's feet at a moment's notice24/7/365 wagie, holy shit
>>107710118Fuck off retard
>>107709926what is the point of having a traditional laptop smaller than a netbook?
>>107710118Of course I'm proud of it. I work an average of less than 2 hours a day from home, make great money with amazing benefits, and literally save lives. As someone who grew up doing blue collar work where I used to work in horrible conditions based on weather for 60+ hours a week and shit, yeah, I'm fucking proud of my job now it's fucking amazing.
>>107710134Travel.
>>107710054This one is an enNIGma. I've tried all the tricks to actually figure out what the actual name is, it just does not work, I think the manufacturer fucked with the firmware or they are lying by omission. Using lscpu didn't tell me shit, sudo inxi -M didn't help so good. It is impossible to figure out the exact name of this PC with the terminal. At least the specs are "decent" for the workflow. It has 16GB of DDR4 @ 2667MT, the CPU is a Intel N95 @ 3.4 GHz, the GPU is fucked mate, it is Intel UHD graphics @ 1.2 GHz. Maybe once my Gentoo business is underway I might set the thing up as a home media PC or do some shitty homelab stuff. Still, it does work just fine for my usecase and workflow.
>>107710145but... tablets
>>107710193In my experience tablets suck, the little flap pad keyboards are annoying as fuck, they don't have ports I need, etc. Not to mention if you don't need windows, and have a phone and have something like an S23 Ultra what's the point of a tablet vs that?
>>107709926ive considered iti have a 7 inch ereader i think a laptop in that size would be great and pocketable. but frankly i just kinda want it without being sure what id use it for i think a 10-12 inch would be ideal for a laptop
>>107709926>Gonna hook it up to an external monitorYou intend to take it on the go with you too? Else you could've just bought a mini pc.
>>107709926Why not one with N100?
>>107709926Does it have a touch screen? Not a dealbreaker, but nice to have
>>107710210windows is a shit experience on small screens
>>107709926Should have waited for pic related instead.
