This cure tab hoarders
>>
>>107712120
I noticed that 99% of the tabs I pin or bookmark, I never bother to dig into or properly open again. Why is that? And is there a cure for it? I'm genuinely interested in what's on those pages, but it seems like I can't ever find time to look at them, or I keep forgetting about them, or I have other more important/interesting things to look at.

Browsers neglect bookmarks. If they want a usecase for AI: organize my bookmarks.
>>
Also, what cured tab hoarding for me was browser updates closing private windows and not restoring them. I just lost all faith and now I treat my browser as an ephemeral dumpster.
>>
Never knew a tab hoarder who would be an important contributor to anything meaningful.
Is tab hoarding a brainlet quirk and a red flag?

100% this. would make a great agent usecase. live in my browser, local only. see that I'm trying to do or accomplish X. Recommends me Y bookmark I saved 6 months ago purely by having a working knowledge of all my local browser data (saved bookmarks, pages, inputs).

Personally I use bookmarking quite a lot. I love Firefox's TabStash extension, which essentially allows you to mass bookmark and then organizes them as saved sessions. Was useful in the past for working on projects, and I could stash the whole window, then swing back and see all the tabs I was viewing from a top down level, but not have to pick them out of my WHOLE 500 bookmark folder.
I also do some base level categorization on my bookmarks tab with folder structures. but theres definitely room for improvement and I find that the browsers knowledge of bookmarks is useless. search essentially does not exist, because unless that site contains the word you're using, which most websites do not, its invisible.

Tab hording is a mental illness, there is no cure
>>
>>107712174
because it requires lots more clicks or keyboard shortcuts than just switching tabs
>>
firefox has the best bookmark feature nobody knows about.. I can just drag tabs onto my bookmarks toolbar, straight into a folder on that toolbar too if I want to.
Can't do that shit with chrome

Bro I have like 1000 tabs and 300 bookmarks, it aint helpin

Bookmark hoarders are every bit as subhuman as tab hoarders.
>>
have to keep tabs open because Chrome purges the history all the time.

what's the psychology behind barneyfagging about people who have a lot of tabs open? i see this behaviour in every thread that mentions tab management or vertical tabs
>>
>>107713160
You're getting mad; why?
>>
>>107713188
You're avoiding the subject. Why do you use this site to validate yourself?

I'll open a new tab in your honour.

It's a zoomer thing from what I gather.
>>
>>107713289
I had multiple men in their 50s ask me why their laptop was lagging, just to see that they had 500+ chrome tabs across several windows. Incomprehensible.
>>
>>107712802
if it matters: you don't. Not really. 99.99% of them are just a "history" and your phone will completely reload them when you select them. So they're not really "open"
>>
>>107713289
>It's a zoomer thing from what I gather.
Even though I have a lot of tabs open in a given moment because each thread is a tab. it has nothing to do with hording much more that the thread is active and I want to post on it. 16+2 threads open. I bookmark things that are much more long term.
t. zoomer

Google needs to set a hard limit on the tabs you can have open on Chrome and all the skins that use it. I would go with 3.
>>
>>107713312
That and never clearing cache can do that to a computer, but this sounds more like normie neglect rather than actual hoarding.
>>
>>107713351
how come?

Bookmark interfaces are fucking SHIT and are tedious to organize and manager. Just let me save my ENTIRE search or browsing history to a single database file on my computer you fucking troglodyte program and let the browser load it so I don't have to have 4500 tabs open for my current projects and shit.

Also, I need a way to browse offline pages I save crucial to my projects.
>>
>>107713385
It's a good, solid number. Nobody needs more than 3 tabs open. You've got your e-mail, you've got your facebook and you've got your you tube.
Those are the three websites.
>>
>>107713417
>Bookmark interfaces are fucking SHIT
Bro is getting filtered by a tree structure.
>>
>>107713167
being a tabfag is not a position from which to argue about psychology bucko
>>
>>107712120
why do we have so many tools to organise, group, and access tabs, when bookmarks are at best relegated to a default filesystem? Doing something inbetween would be ideal. Make tabs organize easily and ensure you have to manually set it to remain loaded instead of doing that as the default.
>>
>>107713372
It doesn't even eat that much memory because contemporary browsers just unload inactive tabs (undoubtedly because of people like this). One of the guys was an actual data hoarder though. I got excited to talk to him, but his hoard was like 50k webpages saved as PDFs into a single folder without any sort of organization.
>>
nooo this takes too much effort aaaah everything in my life should require the least energy possible closing a tab I'm done with is so much work let alone the insurmountable decision fatigue to decide whether it should be bookmarked or not my entire life must reduced to aimlessly browsing the internet and masturbation DAE TAB HOARDER lol so many of us
