After much consideration it's clear to me that the only human civilizations in history that have truly become worthy of preservation are Japan and Antiquity Greece before Rome conquered it.

So no, its not a panacea for privacy. Its just that in some ways Japan has a few cracks where they're still an analog country and this happens to benefit. It used to be pretty easy to disappear in the US as well back in the 70s - you could go to another city and with or without a fake ID claim to be someone else and most of the time you could start a new life. Hell, all of those salesmen who had families in multiple towns and nobody was any the wiser had that shit going on because there just wasn't an easy way to "check" without hiring a private eye or you had to do something that got the cops involved and really giving a shit about it over various jurisdictions.
