My Dad worked in IT so he'd take hardware slated for destruction and give it to us, in secret and we'd hide it under our beds because my mom hated the idea of us having online access that she couldnt monitorEvery time she found a laptop she'd chuck it down the stairs but they were thinkpads so they usually still worked but she had to have chucked thinkpads down a flight of stairs at least a dozen times. Eventually my Dad brought home a panasonic toughbook and my mom just gave up at that point
