How does google just continuously expand their storage to keep up with this. Will the internet ever reach a point where we run out of room.
>>
>>107717251
none as it looks like the account is gone now
>>
>>107717298
google affords all their shit by pushing ads and mass data taps straight into the users' rectums
>>
I don't understand why I can upload terabytes of videos to YouTube for free but I have a 1gb limit on Google drive or whatever (I don't use Google its just an example).
>>
>>107717298
Nah, they'll most likely re-allocate storage from other areas.

Remember years ago, when you'd search something on google? In the corner it would say something like
"44,213,242 results for <Search Topic> found in 0.002 Seconds"?

Ever notice how they quietly removed that report around the same time people started complaining that their search results weren't as good as they used to be?

Not a conspiracy theorist, but it doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to suggest Google internally re-allocates hardware based on demand & goals set by management
>>
Not my problem. Get Google Cloud and backup your /dev/urandom to it.

One is only for videos and can potentially earn Google money and the other is for all files and used in most cases by people who have to use it for work or whatever and so they can limit and charge for it. I think anyway.

Hm
Maybe Youtube is viable for data backups. Do something really retarded like encode files into a sequence of QR codes then upload to Youtube.

There is a limit to how much you're allowed to upload if unmonetized, and you know how they re-encode the original file? They give better bitrates to monetized channels, and it also varies among monetized channels, Mental Outlaw is gonna be given worse bitrate than Linus Tech Tips, and LTT is gonna be given a worse bitrate than someone like Mr Beast.

What the fuck is the point of generating and saving so much AI output? In a way the AI model itself is a compression of its dataset. If you'd need to view its output, you'd just invoke it and discard the results. The model is (or should be) fully deterministic so the much smaller input can be saved instead. Otherwise it's like saving an unzipped copy alongside each one of your zipped files. Makes no sense whatsoever.
>>
>>107717251
I will NEVER understand why the fuck google keep pushing totally unfettered unmoderated AI garbage like this so hard.
They want AI to do well, so why do they allow spambots to make it look like the worst fucking thing that has ever happened to humanity and culture as a whole like this?

What if someone developed a tool that converted any given data from raw bits into a video that could be uploaded to Youtube, downloaded using yt-dlp for example, then converted back into data? Since Youtube's re-encode of the video might mess up the visuals you could rely on a two-tone audio system for 0 and 1 then build the data piece by piece as the audio is played back in the conversion software. Audio tones won't get warped with artifacts like visuals in a video could. This would make Youtube function like cloud storage and you could upload over 9000 GB of whatever the fuck you want.
>>
>>107717835
I believe many already do this, but if they get found out then bye bye to your data. It's not difficult for their systems at this point to detect arbitrary content and various forms of steganography.
>>
>>107717521
what an original idea. why did no one think of this until now?
>>
>>107717251
Unironically based because they are stealth causing the financial ruin of youtube by making them host all that shit.
>>
>>107717835

countries in africa have been doing this for years with facebook. meta went in ages ago and basically paid to expand ISP service networks all over the continent but in exchange users of those networks basically get a locked down version of the net with just facebook, local government sites, and wikipedia, and not much else. it's meta gambling on africa and believing all the personal data will be worth billions in the future if they can harvest it before anyone else. but africans have basically done exactly what you've said and found all kinds of ways to hide and share data like pirated movies, porn, games, music, etc. by uploading it to facebook hidden as innocuous media, that's then downloaded and recompiled locally.

The second Google gives the slightest shit about this, they'll delete this channel and reclaim all of that space with no consequences. They aren't bothering because this is a tiny amount for them and doesn't hurt them at all.
>>
>>107717835
This happens. I've seen very obvious examples of it. Actually you can use YouTube as a full CnC server and pretty easily get away with it.

Your account google/youtube account will be deleted after 2 years of inactivity.
Unless
>Exceptions to this policy
>A Google Account is considered active even if it has not been used within a 2-year period if one or more of these applies:

>Your Google Account was used to make a purchase of a Google product, app, service, or subscription that is current or ongoing.
>Your Google Account contains a gift card with a monetary balance.
>Your Google Account owns a published application or game with ongoing, active subscriptions or active financial transactions associated with them. This might be a Google Account that owns an App on the Google Play store.
>Your Google Account manages an active minor account with Family Link.
>Your Google Account has been used to purchase a digital item, for example, a book or movie.

I have multiple youtube accounts that have been "purged" from public access due to the policy, who knows what they are doing with it now.
>>

I have one account with Minecraft PE purchased on it, but it's the only Google account I don't use YT for. Does video popularity affect this in any way? My acc from way back then has a few meme vids that occasionally still get views
>>
>>107717835
Someone on /g/ did this years ago. The videos may get deleted
>>
>>107717612
>Otherwise it's like saving an unzipped copy alongside each one of your zipped files
If unzipping a file needed a 3060 at the bare minimum, most people would do this (Also in this scenario, both Winrar runs in the cloud, where your zipped file is also stored, and access to both is $200/mo)

Why is a YouTube channel with 1K subscribers allowed to upload so many long videos, shouldn’t they have to build trust before being allowed to do that?
>>107717388
>Not my problem.
Either you or someone else has to watch a bunch of ads so that Google can get more storage. When someone buys something they see in an ad Google makes a cut of that sale too, they track people all over the internet to confirm that the ad worked. They probably also have the ability to see if products in physical stores are being purchased, if sales go up in a physical store nearby you then the ad was successful and maybe Google makes a cut of those sales too.
>>
>>107717474
Those are live streams.
>>
>>107717698
It literally makes no sense. Jeets are uploading terabytes of AI slop no one watches and YouTube is actively suggesting these videos to users (since they are pushing 'small creators' nowadays).
I don't believe uploading useless AI slop is against any TOS so you can't flag a video for being of terrible quality
