JUST LET ME INSTALL EVERYTHING WITH APT OR BY UNZIPPING A FOLDER YOU FUCKING TROGLODYTE PROGRAM DEVELOPERS
>>

no

I feel you anon.

the worst is when you need to delete something and it is incredibly hard to figure out where that shit is installed.
>>
If everything was properly released as an appimage and it had proper desktop environment support it would unironically save Linux.
There should only be like 20 packages in apt - things that are core system components like dev tools or server software.
>>
Why are trannies obsessed with alternative packaging ecosystems? I'll stick with Debian12. apt only.

tarballs are nice cmon now
>>
funniest thing is entire userspace breaks if u mix it. installing drivers via flatpak then updating things via pacman -syu causes conflicts

some thing in flatpak breaks because steam needs 32bit bin that are hidden

installing vulkan libs that are 32bit via terminal then breaks more things.

also endless hidden bloat. each flatpack package lists as 3mb or so but install each slight version build SDK of things in background. i had 10gb of random calculator SDK

this entire userspace is trash

Why would you do this?
No. Really.
Tell me. Why on earth would you do this? It's like trying to have anal sex with a sharp blade and then complaining that you cut your asshole. It's the wrong tool for the job. I refuse to use a food analogy.
>>
>>107720083
>we need 1000 different package managers for each of my genders
aptget pacman paru yay etc
they all have to break things each update
also all of AUR is filled with trans STD just so u can be infected with my antifash crashcode

>linus think this is progressive
>>
just do whatever blender does
>>

come from windows of click download driver

see top listed dependencies on flatpak being Nvidia driver ofc i will assume i need it
its listed as recommended

if you do this, you deserve all the breaks you can get
use slackware if you're this retarded
>>
>>107720202
The fuck are you talking about? Torvalds has gone on record multiple times saying that packaging and distribution is the biggest flaw about Linux in general. He just doesn't get involved in that because it's userland shit, he only cares about the kernel.
>>
>>107719964
sudo make install is all you need
>>
>>107720245
dude appimage solves it. it still doesn't work sometimes because linux but still.

https://www.reddit.com/r/unixsocks/comments/143x72v/linus_torvalds_says_trans_rights/

linus ignores the cancer of breaking userspace, endless packages, rust transition, gplv2 tivozation but the only time he raises his voice is to support transrights
thats his only main concern
>>
>>107719964
Jeetdroid figured this out two decades ago and troonix only managed to make the issue worse

Linus' comment just mirrors the talking points of any pathetic gen-X ultraliberal who grew up in the 1970s, any who by living in a time of unprecedented stability and comfort could enjoy the luxury of never having to develop any political opinions other than "duuuh just allow everything".

Fucking based. I don't have to read his comments on it, don't really care.
Truth is, I just don't care for software developers. Never have, never will. They've always come across as condescending and sneering in bug reports and the way I know it's not a me problem is, I read other peoples bug reports and see the same attitudes.
Nothing that's in your list deserves any kind of gravitas or recognition, it's another seethepost in response to a bug report as far as I'm concerned and old software is right there for you if you need to use it. Nobody is forcing you to updoot at gunpoint. If you want to be treated like you have sentience or liberty: start acting like it buddy.
>>
>>107720337
its funny he has such extreme boomer intolerance for patches and updates just for bcachefs but is completely fine with crashcode and rustification and random daily xz backdoors in everything else
he is the hallmark of boomer psychosis of ignoring worldwars and economic collapse just to throw a fit about some skateboarding kids

>nocoder thread #8422 where retards piss and shit themselves in rage about things they don't understand
How about you fuck off. If you knew how software worked, you'd have no problem unpacking these packages and doing whatever you want. You don't though.
>>
>>107720355
Ironically, your post reads like some fence-sitting-but-not-really type of shit you'd see on HN posted by someone who thinks replying with xkcd comics counts is a valid argument.
>>
>>107719964
Your want arch or nixos. You're welcome.
>>
OP is a faggot desu.

>>107720083
apt sucks but so does every other package manager don't try that obtuse shit here you faggot.
>>
>>107720193
Uh??? The flatpak thing and system driver are kept in sync on Arch. If you install a new driver with pacman, the flatpak will want to update.

In what possible way does this address the OP's tantrum?

Nix is the current best package manager but this still doesn't resolve the OP's terminal brain damage.
>>
>>107720193
and they defend this shitty ass software distribution method, linux will always suck because of them
>>
>>107720193
Just buy yourself MacBook or Mac Studio, it's very simple on macOS.

Every single user app runs sandboxed, and every single app you remove via any basic file removal soft. gets cleaned completely.

It's really that simple.
>>
why can't linux have .exe files that you just double click?
what's stopping linux developers from implementing this, is it too difficult for them
>>
>>107720608
thanks but I will stick to windows 7
>>
>>107720618
>what is appimage
>>
>>107720618
The core nature of the GPL and FOSS prevents this from happening. Nobody can ship the dependencies inside of the software so everything you install on linux requires you to type in random update terminal commands to go to a server you don't know and download 100 different dependencies to install that individually mean nothing to you.
On windows everything is just built in standalone for every .exe, with the worst case being you have to have a version of microsoft visual framework or dotnet. Linux will never be good because of this fatal flaw. On windows you can take installers for software from 30 years ago and run them on a version of windows from that time and they work flawlessly as they did back then. It would be impossible to do the same with linux. If you use linux, you are dependent on the cloud to install and maintain your system, you can't just back up everything in offline installers like windows.

so you didn't actually install the drivers, lol
