Are Ubiquiti routers worth the money?
>>107725398They used to be, not anymore.
What's the usecase of a third party router?I just use the one cox fiber gave me.. no issues with it at all with multiple tvs, laptops, and 2 desktops.
>>107725398test
It depends on the exact model
>>107725419>What's the usecase of a third party router? Most ISPs don't give you a router, they rent it to you. If you buy your own and give it back, you no longer pay rent on it
Just use GL.iNet
>>107725398I had an EdgeRouter Lite for the longest time and upgraded to an EdgeRouter 4 some years aho to get better VPN speeds but they've discontinued the EdgeRouter line since then for the Cloud Gateway line that seems like slop with useless shit like screens and what not. Feels bad man.
>>107725800>CatalogI never had to pay for one, they condition for that is that I would keep that ISP for at least a year
>>107725398gl.inet or openwrt. ubiquiti is networking fast food.
>>107725398An old Dell Optiplex with a $30 network card and OPNsense is going to kick every consumer grade routers ass.
>>107725419Is that a serious question? You can't even configure the rented ones yourself anymore. The isps lock them down, remote into them, and spy on you with them
