Firstly they use GCC which is absolutely inappropriate for implementing NT, they should be using msvc. Secondly, their breadth first approach set the project up for failure. They try and develop the OS as a whole, resulting in any mistakes in one module infecting all the others. What they should have done is developed each module to 100% before touching anything else. And they should have tested each individual dll separately dropped into a win2k3 install. Had they done this they could have had it done 10 times over by now. Windows is not that complex.
