Have you ever considered the possibility that some day normal consumer won't be able to afford a computer anymore?
With GPU and RAM price increases, this nightmare scenario seems likely.

Wireless Internet connections might also get so full of traffic that one day fast Internet will be a luxury as well.

1. Give people cheap tech so they get dependent on it.
2. When they're addicted, start ramping up the price + scarcity
3. Win

Me? I'm already learning ways to survive without technology. In a few years you might have to live without tech.

Yes, becomes glaringly obvious if youve spent enough time in p2p land. None of the infrasfructure is designed to give and take, its all geared to leach from a hub. Ul/dl is still mostly asymmetric, static ips are expensive, regulations favour entrenched interests, glowflare targets bittorrent, untold billions in vc money trying to build blockchain nodes that only work on us-east-1 in the cloud. They want all compute belongs to them and a back doored hardware key either in your pocket, om your wrist, or under your skin so they can turn you into a sensor/drone on their network

But to avoid the madness of uncle ted im going to build a die glocke innawoods so i can ride the kuro siwo into agartha

Why would i need to buy a new computer when i have the one i have now.

I thought the great reset was a myth

It's more simple than that. Most people are happy to give up control of their data for the sake of convenience, so that's where the industry is doubling down, by making non-participation even less convenient, wherever possible. So it's not that they won't be able to afford it, there simply will be less of a need to even consider it.

because their forced to work 40 hour weeks with 2 hour daily commutes at their makework jobs, they dont have the time- by design, to make the informed and healthy consumption decision.

it is satans work, and another point for why graebers vision leads to better technological outcomes than thiels

Even if all the costs 2x, computer hardware will still be relatively affordable unless you replace the whole computer every couple years.
People will adapt by keeping their rigs for longer or will sacrifice on a bit of performance, but I don't see PCs going away completely unless the cost difference between them and cloud computing is huge.
Urban normies will probably gladly pay for a 500 bucks or so terminal with a 20-30 buck subscription though. Hell, they already paid that for a console + internet subscription.

So long as they do stupid shit like putting an embedded processor into e-vapes, i think i'll be fine.

I wouldnt pay 5k for a computer. I simply wouldn't.
All I do is browse the Internet and play old games.

none of this is possible with proper anti-trust laws that promote healthy competition. donald cheeto is a fucking corrupt moron though so who knows.

Impossible to obtain until the wages slavery is removed and the homestead is rendered unalienable.

Politicians vote to keep their mortgage payments going so they are bought by money printers
