Blackberry's were the shit. I feel so bad for all the young people that barely missed these. This was the last one I had back in like 2011, the Blackberry Curve 3G. These were like one of the cool phones to have before iPhones were the standard. Blackberry's and Sidekicks. Getting one of these gave me the same feeling that getting a new iPhone gives me now. I felt so lucky and better than everyone else.

It's considered "normal" since subpar designers place the 3.5mm jack on the bottom

You are putting it UPSIDE DOWN, because you need to otherwise your cable would get fucked? Do you not understand this concept?

If headphone jack is on top you don't need to worry about your connector being all fucked up, and you don't need to put it upside down kek. You can just slide it into your pocket, without flipping it.

Am I the only person that doesn't give a fuck about my phone? I've gone a month without looking at it. I also only buy used phones that are a few years old and spend $7 a month on my plan

so it was, my bad
>>
>>107743147
The way they said "IoT SoC platform" makes me think it's gonna be some weird obscure chipset
>>
So what does it do to justify being $500?
>>
>>107743149
Kinda same, I only use it for tracking packages, keeping in contact with my parents, and logging into my bank
>>
>>107743173
It has a physical keyboard, that's the only reasoning they have. Don't tell them you can just buy one of the Unihertz Titan models for around $200 less.
>>
>>107742140
sadly I heard these were shit though. buggy software and hardware
>>
>muh specs
For the average phone user, there is ZERO difference in speed from the top-of-the-line latest iPhone and a smartphone from 2019.

Unihertz made a second blackberry passport clone like two months ago and you retards are seriously arguing over a phone with circular buttons? Jesus christ

For 250 bucks the only real down side is the fact its huge

The problem with unihertz is that they don't do headphone jacks or SD cards, which is a dealbreaker for me. The physical design of the titan is nice though

I've read the press release and I'm a little confused.
It sounds like they're primarily marketing it as a 2nd device to carry around with your smartphone.
For this use, I think $500 is incredibly steep for a device that's main selling point is to "triage" messages and get rid of distractions, especially if you own an iPhone where its usefulness will be debatable.
I also see it's fully equipped with a sim card, so if you can actually use it as a phone, then I think it's actually not that bad and would be kind of cool to daily a QWERTY phone again. But it sounds like they're marketing it wrong. I don't expect it to be much of a success, especially if it can't be used as a standalone phone.
>>
>>107742525
Why do you need that much processing power on a phone? Do you not have a computer?
>>
>>107743483
Turns out I'm illiterate.
It can be used as a standalone device which is actually kind of cool.
I think the marketing should have focused more on it being an actual phone than a 2nd device. If I was due for a new phone I would actually consider it.
>>
>>107743296
What are you talking about? It literally got announced 6 hours ago. The only people who have been hands on are the creators of it.
>>
>>107743399
I had a 256gb card in my last phone and never used most of it. The titan has 512.

The headphone jack is kinda gay but I also never plugged an audio jack into my last phone at all except to use an IR Blaster, and the titan has one built in so the one weird thing it's useful for is already included

Idk these are starting to become unreasonable complaints for something as niche as this, nowadays both of those features are kind of niche by themselves. No fault to user requirements but if it's truly a deal breaker then you're missing out on the first keyboard phone released in like eight years that isn't just a poverty cope device. The keyboard touchpad is dope
>>
>>107742140
>Communicator is a fully standalone smartphone that runs Android 16

That's the thing though, I did have an Fxtec Pro1, and I will be forever disappointed that something was that close to greatness and yet the company behind it fumbled at every possible opportunity.

The Titan (2) has me very interested, but I can't justify getting one. I can't imagine it's that much better than a regular phone, and I think 400 is a waste for a gadget.

Unihertz Titan 2, skip that reddit hardware, it's not even a true phone but some kind of "companion" thing.
Also those portrait keyboards are in my opinion shit and even worse than on screen keyboards. Hardware landscape is another thing.

Hey in case you didn't know pojeet, you don't hold your phone while you listen to music, usually it's in your pocket when you are outside.
>>
>>107744943
everyone has phone upside down in pocket tho not that it matters since wired headphones are not a thing for over a decade.
>>
So this is designed by the same studio that designed the Q10, 9900 and Passport. (Joseph Hofer)

This is the real shit.
>>
Phones don't need a keyboard.
The internet should be read-only when accessed from a mobile device anyway
>>
>>107744992
Again you just proven my point as person who doesn't use wired headphones.

Any company that caters to people who use wired headphones, have the headphone jack on top, because if you have it under, it destroys the cable/ headphones.
