FWIW we just got subpixel zooms on Samsung's V-Stripe RGB QD-OLED now thanks to a preemptively posted hands-on article (so far only announced on a single 34" Ultrawide):
https://old.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/1q25eyy/vstripe_pictured/
Thankfully they are hotdog-stacked and not hamburger-stacked like early leaks suggested.
I know the Blue OLED has notoriously low lifespan so it's tiny by comparison, but I wonder the Green OLED is very-slightly smaller than the Red one as well. Gonna be interesting to see how it stacks up to LG's 4K RGB OLED which will have an aperture ratio advantage.
>>
>>107746960
Maybe, but I have a 5090 so its a little more concerning for me. I've double and triple checked the connector and its as snug as it can get, but it seems you can just randomly have one pin fail and then its a matter of time. And I know I'll never get another one even if the rest of the PC survives.

Retard question here
I want to buy 1000 WATT PSU but my house only provided 1300 WATT of power.

PSU never had a spike of 1000 WATT of power out of nowhere right.

Also is SUPER FLOWER brand good ??

Pic related. Want to buy 1000watt version of this since i dont think 850 watt is enough for future proofing

>>
>>107746998
If you're not maxing out an 850w PSU, swapping to a 1000w PSU won't draw any more power. It's the load of the components that dictates draw, not the rating of the PSU.

should be fine. not only do circuit breakers themselves not trip immediately on quick transient spikes but a PSU isn't like a big motor that starts up, the rated wattage is just what it can supply, not what it will actually draw (unless asked to)

hey guys, I built a new pc for myself after 15 years so I'm little out of the loop, as you can see I went full rgb cringe, and I have some questions about 12v2x6 cable, the cable I got with my psu is straight, but I put my gpu vertically and now the cable is pretty bent on the gpu side and I don't like it at all (inb4 housefire), i need the angle version,I have a lian li edge psu and as far as I can see Lian li doesn't even offer an angle version of the cable, but i can find the be quiet version in my country, and the connector on the psu side doesn't look proprietary it looks like a regular 12v2x6 connector, so my question is can I use be quiet cable on lian li psu, in my time modular psu cables were often proprietary, but this doesn't seem to be the case now?

The dumb bastard in his recent RAM crisis video even said to ignore non-binary RAM outright because it's ALWAYS more expensive than regular RAM. Because it converts 120/230v alternating current into whatever the PC uses, inefficient conversion means the PSU draws more watts at the wall than it can supply to the PC. efficiency is just one metric of many, and i would argue one of the least important. What I like about the C1000 in particular is the very long hold-up time, since im on a UPS it's great peace of mind. How it handles transients is also very important.

There's a little bit of correlation between "80+" rating and component quality but that's about it. A 3% efficiency difference at 80 watts or whatever is meaningless.

Brothers how does one get rid of vrr flicker? This whole sync thing pretty confusing. Should I use gsync and vsync or should I turn both off and cap the frames or turn off one for the other? Or should I do everything? Any way to read up on this? I got a 1440p qd-oled 360hz monitor and a 5070ti. I typically cap the frames to 120 since I typically just play single player games and anything above 120fps seems like overkill and just adds needless stress to the gpu.

VRR flicker generally happens when your frametimes are rapidly fluctuating. Run frametime monitoring to see whether you're dropping frames. Be aware that OLED by default has worse sample and hold "flicker" because the pixel transitions are instant. Sitting back from a monitor will lower the frameyness and make motion appear smoother

Nothing remotely jeet about what I said. If anything jeets are the intended beneficiary of AI, the idea being that you can pair a retarded jeet up with an LLM and the pair might eventually make a decent programmer for less cost, but that isn't happening. It's a bubble. The only people making money are the hardware producers, the people implementing this stuff aren't seeing results, and you're one bad quarterly update away from seeing 2008++++. The only question is how much of the PC hardware ecosystem will survive waiting for it.

ifabric clock is based on dram clock so the cpu itself is a bit slower with 5200 i think that's the main concern and you're increasing latencies on an already latency weak chiplet platform. 6000cl30 really is the recommended baseline and many chips can go further.

Definitely noticeably worse than it could be with that ram but probably still fine overall.

It's not seamless to code for, you have to deliberately support it, and the cost meant that it only ever had a tiny sliver of the market and wasn't worth supporting. What little support exists was usually nvidia literally writing the code for the developer, but it just never moved the needle and eventually wasn't worth it. These setups you see where you've got a hundred GPUs racked together are a sort of descendant at least.

but sure, technically, syncing your FCLK in 2:1 mode gives the best performance, but you have to be running at DDR5-8000+ to do that
not what we're talking about
FCLK on AM5 is 1800 by spec but your board is probably going to set it to 2000 regardless of RAM frequency when enabling EXPO

yeah the ram is like one of the worst parts about this pc if you ignore the mobo and psu (it's like f or d tier). i heard x3d chips are not so sensitive to ram and i am trying to figure out if i should just swap the ram for 32gb 6000mhz and sell mine. the whole pc cost like 300 euroshekels and it could have come without ram or ssds and i would have still bought it.

if it's synced at all it's better, and you're losing performance by running your fabric at 2000 with 5200 ram because it's not synced 1:1 1:2 1:3 1:4 or 1:10000.

and if you are running under 2000 to sync with 5200 you're losing performance anyway
and you're gaining a lot of memory latency with that dog shit even aside from all that
Are you even saturating ryzen's already heavily bandwidth limited memory controller with 5200cl40? I don't know. Isn't it really bad like 60-70gb/s max even for 16 cores.

>I don't know. Isn't it really bad like 60-70gb/s max even for 16 cores
max you can realistically daily is 2200 FCLK, 32 B/cycle = 70 GB/s
DDR5-5200 is up to 83 GB/s on a sequential workload

So they DID ship a very small batch in asia in late October of the "V4" version.

Rumors from the industry are Coolermaster has basically had horrible yield problems with the new 3D printed heat pipe idea for these coolers that have resulted in microscopic leaks in a large number of units that get produced.

In the meantime the market has been flooded by cheap dual tower heatsinks from competitor companies that are within 2-5% performance for 1/2 the cost or less.

So they likely have gone back to the drawing board with the larger V8/V10 versions to see if they can make it worth the cost for the performance they'll offer, or if they should just cancel the whole product stack.

It's a shit show, they had a marketing-first product development, they wanted a cool-looking high-performance air cooler with a brand new cool-sounding marketing-friendly 3D printed heat pipe technology, but they hadn't actually figured out how to mass-produce the technology with acceptable quality control.

DDR5-8000 is 4000 MCLK, 2000 UCLK, 2000 FCLK
some workloads might still prefer 4000:2000:2200
DDR5-8400 is the endgame, 4200 MCLK, 2100 UCLK, 2100 FCLK

Is it possible that the same cable used for one GPU may not handle another equally in regards to not dropping signal/black-screening? I have an admittedly not-great Displayport cable that I used with my 7900 XT, but it wouldn't drop out unless I prodded at it. Put in a new 9070 XT, and it it's exhibiting weird behavior. Black-screening, boot-looping, and so on. For reference, my PSU is an 850W ATX3.1-rated unit, so I don't think power delivery or transient spikes should be an issue. I'm really lost as to why this is happening unless the cable is teetering on the edge of death. Not sure what to buy either, fuck.

ATX 3.0 should use 12VHPWR
ATX 3.1 should use 12V-2x6

Both cables/connectors are compatible with each other, but 12V-2x6 is safer/newer/better.

6000CL30 can only be hynix, 2x16 or 2x24 is good
you can also do what another anon here did and buy some high frequency kit like 7600CL38 to downclock to 6000
might be easier to find since no one is buying those for ryzen
6000CL36 kits are not worth it, your current kit can already do this with some extra voltage

ATX 3.0 PSU has stricter/better hold up time requirements, PSU manufacturers complained enough to have 3.1 set looser hold up time specs.
But you need to be more careful with the native 12VHPWR connector.
You could get a pin-compatible 8-pin PCIE to 12V-2x6 cable that's compatible with the ROG PSU if you're worried about the 12VHPWR cable melting on the PSU side.

You should absolutely buy a 5080 if it's within your budget.

60 Series isn't for a while, and who the fuck knows what that is going to cost.
If you want to buy a 9070XT and put the $300 you save aside for whenever the 60-Series comes out, or whatever AMD releases in two years, I guess you can do that.

When RAM was cheap and CPUs could be had for decent discounts, people generally had $300 leftover in budget to go for a 5080, but now that RAM is like $500, a lot less people have the budget to stretch to a 5080.

I think the 5080 is the only card that makes sense right now. 5090 is priced ridiculously and 5070Ti is getting so close to the 5080 there is no point.

IF they release 5080/5090 Ti/Super (and I stress the IF part) the price will be so fucked up people will be scrambling to buy the 5080/5090 leftovers.
