Google is starting to delete all of the old school street views so as a warning you might want to start saving historic shots or memories from your childhood home or whatever the fuck because of course why wouldn't this raped worthless corporation let us have anything worthwhile remaining.
>>107747160but why are they deleting them?
>>107748256they--you know who--made the streets ugly and ruined everything good in real life, and they're making sure you can't even look at a shitty botnet picture of it on the internet to enjoy or compare it with what you see outside. Eventually, you'll become convinced everything has always been this way and you'll have no way to prove otherwise.Save your photo albums.
>>107748256they're deleting all possible photos of aliens before someone makes an AI that scans every image

>>107749347Me neither, never used the feature and have no interest in using it>>107748256What’s the point of keeping what amounts to digital garbage? It’s probably several tb of data saved
>>107747160This should be considered a crime against humanity. >>107748256It might sound conspiratorial, but probably as a way to detach you from the past and gaslight you into thinking this was always how the world was as things become more and more third-world looking. Pic related, it's coming to your country too sooner or later, just a random street in Johannesburg, but it's the same everywhere in the city.
>>107748256Too many aquariums.
>>107749558>gaslight you into thinking this was always how the world was as things become more and more third-world lookingThis
>they nuked all of the street views except 2007, 2021, and 2024 of my childhood home street viewI just don't have words at this point, there needs to be a word coined for when you're far past the point of fatigued.
>>107749558So sad to see store fronts are closing down. Online shopping is too convenient and big chain stores being able to price everyone out.
>>107749558>Pic related, it's coming to your country too sooner or later, just a random street in Johannesburg, but it's the same everywhere in the city. Both of those look like shit
>>107750664You can see the street/footpath are unkept because the businesses are gone.
>>107750691I still see businesses displayed there by google
>>107749511>history>digital garbageWhen google does it it's praised as cost saving measure. When I do it they call me a nazi.
>>107749558And this here is why printed media and personal backups are worthwhile. The crimes of many were found years later through treasures of history found in random ass backrooms and cellars.
>>107749511>>107750895>>107750664>>107751279>historyThis isn't history. It's digital clutter. Garbage, pollution, digital dross. You bitter clingers and racists have neither right nor reason to dig through vile archives of accidentally-collected trash, except to spread hatred by your nostalgic shit-flinging.Go outside.
>>107748256Need to make space for the petabytes of daily AIslop videos
>>107747160Is this related to the amerigolem school shooting trend, tell me it is, it'd be too funny
>>107747160Shit, fuck. How do I even save google street views? I was just thinking about this the other year for my country.
>>107749511>It’s probably several tb of data saved"several tb" is by far a low estimate. Anyways, this is incredibly interesting historical data, there's probably someone somewhere willing to archive it if they'd donate the data instead of trashing it.

>>107751713Greatest city on earth. I'm not even joking. I lived in a dumpy place like this because my mom was dumb enough to buy one of those types of houses. It's probably gone now. I went to hockey games, rap concerts, I saw Kraftwerk live, pizza delivery guy always showed up to my house high as fuck but on time cause he knew my white ass was gonna tip good... Good times.
>>107752061shit city but hey, we all have nostalgia for our younger years
>>107751919>>107752061Don't worry, they're redeveloping as quick as they can.
i think it's so cool that my childhood home is still there, largely unchanged at least from the street.lived there from 1993, built in 1959. still has the front porch my dad built in the early '00s, still has the original letterbox + another one that was added after it was subdivided in the '10s after i left. still has the original white picket fence. doesn't have the garden out the front which my mum spent a lot of time on however, but overall looks familiar
>>107752093Nah it fucking rules. It wasn't overrun with corny hipsters. They were around but they don't dictate how things go in that place. At times it seems like nobody does really. I like that. Everything I hate about major American cities just isn't there. People are so hung up on the racial shit but black people in Detroit don't bother me. Motherfuckers trying to do a dance routine on the train in NYC while I'm just trying to get someplace bother me. But I'm always trying to get away from the things that people are hyping up and are saying the best. Mostly just because I find the hordes so annoying. I don't care if I am surrounded by chaos as long as I am left alone.
>look up what happened to my local video store>it's now some "dollar store">which is weird because there was a "dollar store" just a couple shops over>it's deadat least the new "dollar store" still has the film reel on the exterior. you could get your film developed there too, when that was a thing
>>107748256So you can't see real picture of diversity? All you have to do is to find some recently "culturally enriched" areas and rewind time.
>>107752252This was one of the video stores I frequented as a child. I rented Megaman Legends and never returned it. When I had a hacked xbox I rented Soul Calibur 2 and copied it.
>>107752289They did get it as a video store in 2008
>>107752289i hacked my first xbox by renting an early revision copy of siphon filter (iirc) from that very video store and using the associated save game hack with it. i made a little money softmodding other peoples' xboxes thanks to that. i copied a lot of movies and games from that store, dvd of course, but also lots of psx, ps2 and psp games.
>>107752252>>107752297i visited this place pretty often as a kid, including for developing photos and a few times resurfacing discs
>>107752373I remember it was a pain to find xbox games to download online besides the latest releases. I remember hacking other kids xboxes especially around the time of the prerelease leak of Halo 2.
>>107752373>>107752408haha, it's almost more surprising seeing things on there which are /still there/ 20+ years later. like the barber i went to as a kid for as long i remember is still there, at least the location is still a barber. how about that?
>>107751713Holy fucking shit, learn to bait believably, you retarded nigger.

>>107752846There are plenty of freelance demolition specialists aiding in rewilding efforts, it's quite inspiring.
>>107748256Usecase of goy memory?
There was a Blockbuster video in my town as late as 2011.
>>107752846w-w-what happens if a fire starts in that house
Hmm, mine only goes back to 2012. That's pretty far back but I was already an adult at that point.
>>1077536592011 appears to be when they started taking HD photos. There's photos from 2007 of my town, but the quality is so low that its hard to make things out.
>>107753739Yeah 2007 on the main streets for me too, the quality is lower but you can still see the before/after soul sucking effect of time moving forward. On the other side of this street was a Hastings, now a dollar store..
If you gave a shit about your streets you'd make photos of them yourself?
>>107753763They must have taken the 2007 photos on an overcast day, maybe early in the morning, and as a result, low light; because that's how it looks on the 2007 photos of my town, too. But yeah you're right about the soul suckiness. The taco bell in my town had the old exterior, as well as 89 cent tacos as late at 2011.
>>107749190
>>107753793Well, Ahmad, unfortunately I did not have a high quality camera back in 2007. And, I didn't think the world was going to change more drastically in the 2007-2017 time span than at any other decade in my life, so, I didn't think to take pics with my non existent camera.
