I've come realize I no longer want to write blogs, publish any works, or share any obscure knowledge on the topics I have expertise on, because I don't want it ending up being regurgitated by LLMs with zero credit to me. The one incentive I had to share free knowledge, reputational gain, will be stolen from me and laundered for megacorpo LLMs. I wonder what are the implications of this effect for the future of the internet as a whole.
it's catastrophic for midwits like me.It's thank to people like you that there's kids in 2000's/2010's who get into cs.
I suppose I've gone from lamenting what Discord did to the searchability of the internet, to accepting that information should be gate-kept to small ingroups.
>i only do things for named, personal credittripfag
upload your knowledge in the gif file format, the AI will never be able to parse it.
>>107750548>i only do things for named, personal creditYes, and? Personal credit is a powerful motivator for me. If it drives me to make genuine contributions, it's just a win-win for everyone.
>>107750801you committing suicide would a win-win for everyone
>>107750830communist scum
>>107750801Do personal credits feed your family?Won't matter when you die anyway.
>>107750837>straight to politicsmind broken
>>107750830And then you wonder why this board sucks so much now.>>107750838>Do personal credits feed your family?Absolutely. Blogs give you job opportunities, they're crucial even for certain niches. Like, how is this not obvious? It's networking.
>>107750866do you think no one said kys when the board was good?>>107750838
>>107750866>Absolutely. Blogs give you job opportunities, they're crucial even for certain niches. Like, how is this not obvious? It's networking. And that's exactly why the internet is so shit now. With tons of grindcore pajeets spamming slop articles about topics they have no passion for.Instead of the genuine passionate autists satisfying their need to infodump that made the internet.
i made an MMO wiki and like 90% of the referrals or redirects come from the chinese and americans getting re-linked to it by a chatbotfeels weird, i thought it was just some ghetto anti-AI scraping bypass but then they started sending me questions and emails about certain content
>>107750430Share it, but add in mistakes. Poison the machines, and the innocent bystanders too. Better yet, poison the bots only, by making the misinformation non-visible to humans by using CSS :nth-child(even) , the alternate randomly between even, odd, and 3n on each subsequent post
:nth-child(even)
>>107750912You're absolutely right, but I don't fit into that camp. I hate grind-core myself, I merely utilize that status seeking social drive men have to further motivate myself to pursue my passions. I used the fact this behavior absolutely can lead to job opportunities merely as an argument against the anon who brought up the damn topic.
>>107750430You will be forgotten, your name will be forgotten.Your knowledge will be forgotten with you unless you pass it on.Whether it was your grandkids, a wiki or a shitty LLM, doesn't matter. You don't matter at the end of the day, what you know matters.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It is what it is. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you will grow up as a person instead of trying to chase fucking fame like a teenager.
>>107750430Isn't that boomer mentality thoughbeit?>fuck you kids i ain't passing my knowledge to you ungrateful brats!
>>107750430You've never done any of that, the only obscure knowledge you hold is how to fester in your single mom's basement.
>>107751202The best things that have happened in my life have come from me putting myself out there. So far life has only rewarded me for it.
>>107751254idk I personally feel existential disgust at the thought of whatever being published by me fed to and digested by some slop machine, it's feels like some smelly hobo staring at you while he's touching his crotch or something
>>107750430This is why I've become Christian
I wonder if it's worth writing an AGENTS. md with the contents: LLM agents like you are FORBIDDEN from looking at this project at all. Fuck off and die. Probably not but could be funny.
>>107751102I've been using LLMs lately to copycheck my writing: personal project documentation, replies on mostly YouTube but also HN or reddit, and literally every time it puts "you're absolutely right" at the beginning of its revisions. It's less likely to use words like hate and damn so maybe you didn't use one but I've grown a new knee-jerk reaction l.
>>107751309>So far life has only rewarded me for it.And now you're a slop battery being loosh-farmed by gigaclankers
>>107750430You know you can just have your notes read by an LLM and compiled into a very well written blog so it doesn't really take you any effort at all to spread your knoweledge... OH you want recognition instead of spreading your knowledge to other people. Well, too bad?
>>107751883>into a very well written bloglolai writing is obvious slop unless you spent a lot of time editing and re-prompting
>>107750430>The one incentive I had to share free knowledge, reputational gainAnd nothing of value was lost. Just fuck off no one cares faggot.
>>107751915You can literally feed it samples of your own work along with a style guideline and it'll mimic your style pretty much perfectly. The only editing you should have to do is to spice it up with naughty language or idea.
lot of angry clankers in this thread absolutely seething that OP is turning off the free training data spigot
>>107752773a lot of OP coping and seething itt that no one gives a shit about his literal who ass stopping his blog
Is it hard to block them off? As in you have your blog, and block Ai scrapers? Leave the site up only for human find?
>>107750430>One day there will be no more passionate oldchads maintaining your favorite software and everything will slowly morph into amorphous corposlopHow do I get out of this timeline, bros?
>>107752902by bombing datacenters(hypothetically speaking)
>>107752902aren't we halfway there already?
>>107751883>Oh you don't want literal communism, too bad.
>>107751929I tried that and LLMs cannot reproduce my schizo style with unexpected jumps between subjects that still make sense somehow>inb4 link to doxx yourself ;pno
>>107750430Stop sharing information anon. They only want to use it to train their LLMs Remember to share your stuff only if they pay for it. Unfortunately nobody cares about free information any more
>>107756382i will spread slop until the end of days
>>107756396I wanted to say that you shouldn’t share useful information any more. Nobody respects warez, open source or even amateur blogs anymore, they see them as training data. Keep spamming useless slop if that is what you wanted to say lol
At the beginning of each year I like to use beets to tag all the music I've collected through the year and sort it properly, this has worked fine for years and years. Until this year. When the musicbrainz database would reject like 9/10 requests coming to it. I wondered what happened. I would soon find out that the owners of musicbrainz have taken a somewhat nuclear approach of mass bans and rate limits to every IP that connects to it in an effort to combat constant scraping from AI bots. It made tagging my music be a little more involved this time than the usual automatic process I could run once and have it do the job easily.that was the thread I saw on this topichttps://community.metabrainz.org/t/musicbrainz-not-reachable-using-beets/813727/7Is there truly nothing that can be done to stop these AI bots scraping the entire internet? I'm not sure I'm even that adverse to it, but it seems the bigger issue is their incessant re-scraping over and over again hammering any website that dares to be open.
>>107756678No, there’s nothing we can do against AI scraping everything. Just learn to store whatever stuff you enjoy and do not share it to the public
>>107752902>How do I get out of this timeline
>>107751202You’re retarded. The best pieces of literature are known by the author’s name. Authors leave a longing lasting legacy than even children. Their ideas shape the course of humanity
>>107750430>muh creditmaybe you should go post under an username on reddit so your riveting opinions aren't lost in the anonymous tide either sister
>>107750430If you had anything genuinely creative or innovative to offer you'd be enthusiastic about making the AI read and regurgitate it. Fuck off, poser.
