If you want to update your track, make a new post.Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.>Where can I hear the previous albums?https://dmpproductions.org/albums/https://www.youtube.com/@MusicOf4chan>Wikishttps://dmpdoc.neocities.org/https://mu-sic-production.fandom.com/wiki//mu/sic_Production_WikiPrevious: >>107738916

can we shift to making breakcore, happy hardcore, hypertrance, and sextrance only please and thank you friends. these genres will provide you with monetary rewards because they are cool.

>>107767238I haven't had time to work on my track, though I will this week. I also need to buy a new laptop hard drive so I can fit all this crap that comes with Ableton Suite.
>>107765680I, for one, love 4OTFhttps://files.catbox.moe/e0lrk6.mp3
>>107766362No, extensions were always a thing, and look at the number of submissions despite numerous thread schizos and AI.
>>107767238imagine there are millions of literal whos trying to make blockbuster movies using less than the bare minimum of equipment with very naive storytelling and acting ability etc. they can't each make millions of dollars because that would cost trillions that no one wants to pay for because the quality of their movies is straight ass. you're one of those literal whos but with music. music takes a "genius" to make it actually sound good and most people aren't geniuses.
>>107767819But people do that all the time
>>107767958do what?

>>107767819You should spend more time learning an instrument rather than watching hardware reviews. I know it's harder.
>>107768074seethe
anons think they can become a musical wizard with an instrument while being retarded at technical production skills and in general having no common sense, a severe learning disability and having bad music taste, not even looking for someone else to produce their music but they think they can produce their own music and their instrument playing skills will carry them
>>107768211Rhymes, pls
>>107768211It doesn't make sense to invest much into production if your goal is to make money, seeing as AI is already replacing a lot of it. It sucks but what can you do.Playing live with an instrument is something AI cannot replace.
>>107763875>but its not up to me is it nowI think it should be.>>107766362>>107767702Time to merge with /prod/
>>107768540Stop trying to stir drama. There was drama during the tracker album which is one of the reasons people were leaving. If you have disagreements you should state them clearly and succinctly.
>>107768340AI can do background music and btfo most amateurs but it's still kind of meme tier like 10 years ago there were youtubers with elaborate CGI animations with big chungus and whatnot, it was funny but not going to replace hollywood productions. like this resembles the aesthetic but it's like an amateurish parody skit:https://www.reddit.com/r/GenAI4all/comments/1q3px5s/one_person_with_a_laptop_can_now_make/a while back i bought a dirt cheap vintage analog compressor that is not the typical alesis 3630 or dbx slop. i wasn't even interested at first because i didn't want to bother with too much poorfag crap but i studied the schematics of the circuitry and i saw the potential in it. indeed, when listening to it it has a generous amount of excellent warmth. then just yesterday i found out that it has been used for a pumping effect on drums by several insanely influential artists and it has been acknowledged as being important for their sound. the market value of the compressor is still low because not a lot of people know about it but it seems to be somewhat rare (there are none for sale on reverb.com currently). so even now there are cool tricks to be found for a creative person to exploit. some of the youtubers who make tutorial videos in EDM have somewhat of a career and i think the bar is not set terribly high to make higher quality music than they do.
>>107767819> music takes a "genius" to make it actually sound good and most people aren't geniuses. So, then what should a middle IQ person do? I work a good engineering job, got free time for hobbies

is it possible to make string quartet music digitally that sounds like the real instruments? is it possible to do with just a mouse and keyboard and software?like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftvpi-6Z6qw
Guy in the other thread said this is corny, what do you guys think? https://vocaroo.com/1lb3X0a95yP9
>>107776897Yes, well, close enoughhttps://youtu.be/cMeoG8v7FYY
>>107777048It's corny in the sense that it resembles 80's music. Everything from the 80's is corny. If that's what you were going for, then you did good.

my friend is a rising star in the local trap music scene, he's trying to breakout into the mainstream. he's got a unique style, do you think he's going to make it?here's his song that just broke 10 million streams on spotify in a year - let this serve as an example of the sonics people want to hear in 2026:https://vocaroo.com/1egd0Lk6N1zP
>>107778157You had me, made me doubt you, then made me laugh. Holy fucking KEK
What's the mindset behind wanting to be a trend chaser and wanting to be "mainstream"? If it's for money, then get a real job, and leave music for creating art, not a product.

>>107768211>>107768340Most people are content to make music for fun. Almost all musical instruments are sold to amateurs. This idea that you have to chase success and make tons of money with music misses the point entirely. And while some people might be content to have AI just generate trash for them, it's not really that much fun. Algorithmic composition is much more fun than that. I have this MIDI musical accompanying box thing, the same technology is used by Jean-Michele's app EON today. You hook up a MIDI controller to it, and then run the MIDI OUT to a synthesizer, and set the parts appropriately and then just start playing and it will accompany you in the loaded style, which you select by putting in a cartridge. I just have the one it came with - jazz - but I've been in contact with the inventor of the gadget over email, he's a retired music professor from Minnesota, and he's provided me with some information on the unit so it may be possible to create new styles. It's really neat, it will follow your key and tempo and time signature changes, you can hook up a pedal to do a fill-in, etc. As I said the same tech exists today, if you've never downloaded EON it will generate infinite JMJ-style music algorithmically, and it does a surprisingly excellent job at that too. It's not AI though. AI is gay and lame.
