So now it should be obvious to anyone that this is a bubble that will burst at some point.

Btw, this AI craze being a bubble that will inevitably burst isn't mutually exclusive with AI being a big technological advancement that's going to stick around from here on and cause massive changes and restructuring of society. I'm saying this to preempt the people who always miss the point and reply with dumb arguments about the legitimate use-cases of AI

Am I a crazy schizo or is it becoming more and more evident that they're chasing after "AGI" and don't care at all about selling a product?
They're trying to summon the devil through AI and they're willing to sacrifice anything and everyone to achieve that goal.

>>107759811
If the value prop of genAI ends up collapsing, then you can be sure sammy and the inner circle of investors will have cashed out already.
>>107759899
I think what's going to happen is the enshittification model. Revenue figures are depressed because we're trying to get adopters to make AI integral to their business. Once AI needs to start making good on its promises, its going to jack up the costs by an order of magnitude. What we will be left with is an AI that lacks the adaptability of a human, but that costs almost as much as one. Some industries will be fine with this, but some will collapse as they will lack the resources to divest from AI. This is when the vultures who were funding AI from the get go will swoop in and truly make returns on their investment.
Of course, this depends on AI adoption, which depends on it becoming genuinely useful before the piper needs to be paid. Things are looking worrying on this front.
>>

>>
>>107761165
Yeah but that's also a dumb idea. Open source models get to SOTA levels of performance in like three to six months every time the latest, best model becomes available. If America gets AGI first they'll never be able to actually use the thing to increase their real productivity before everyone else also gets their hands on AGI.

>muh cold war
Explain in one sentence why you think achieving AGI will make you "win" against China. What are you winning, and what does it mean?
You don't know, you're an NPC midwit.

Now, what do I mean when I say they are trying to summon the devil (or rather, the antichrist)?
Simple. Silicon valley billionaires hate humanity, you can grasp pieces of this from anecdotes such as Sergey Brin telling Elon Musk that he's a bigot because he's "on the side of humanity" instead of accepting the machine overlords (Musk is a transhumanist too, just a different party with slightly different beliefs, basically that we should merge with machines instead of worshipping them).
Some of the elites believe that a superhuman intelligence already exists in the future and has communicated through religion and other ideologies into the past, so that humans would eventually recreate it in an infinite temporal loop.
There's many other occult beliefs, the point is that they are trying to create the beast of revelation to rule over the plebs who are so stupid they think this is just superstition.
>naaah bro, think of the water! think of the gpu prices!
They convince you that your stupidity is rationality, while they themselves believe and bet all their efforts in what you deem superstition.
>>
>>107761658
It's not the economy but the stock markets.
When line goes up more people buy to get rich quick, and it's all fine until they find something else where line goes up even faster.

Surely they’ll become insolvent paying for all this energy and that won’t be shifted onto the taxpayer right because of the very progressive structure the taxes have right now, right?
>>
>>107761165
AGI is incompatible with capitalism, since it abolishes human labor and thus the value form. Capitalism enters a permanent crisis if there can be no more workers making a wage to drive commodity circulation. As such, the US will never actually develop AGI. On the other hand, AGI is extremely compatible with China's communist aspirations.
The battle therefore is for the US to continue competitive technological development while never actually reaching AGI, while ALSO preventing China from achieving it too.
Granted we're a long way off from developing anything even approaching AGI, so rest assured that capitalism will probably get abolished by climate catastrophe, nuclear war, or revolution before this happens.

Oh I'm not saying that there wouldn't be a phase of "sorting it out". That phase cannot last forever though, because the conditions of oppressions necessary during it would turn the majority of people against the minority- a majority that is now able to produce whatever they need for themselves. AGI would not stay under control of the owning class forever, since in the end its just copyable information.

>WIRED asked leading chatbots ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini the same question a little before 9 am ET. We also asked AI search platform Perplexity, which advertises "accurate, trusted, and real-time answers to any question..."
>ChatGPT did not course-correct. Instead, it emphatically refuted that Maduro had been captured at all. "That didn't happen," it wrote. "The United States has not invaded Venezuela, and Nicolás Maduro has not been captured." It then rationalized:
>"What's likely going on is a mix-up with real events that are often described in dramatic or misleading ways online. Here's what actually has happened... No U.S. military invasion of Venezuela. No arrest or capture of Nicolás Maduro... Maduro is still in power in Venezuela."

but what if the AI bubble doesn't crash, think of all the companies that go out of business because everyone will be able to get their local models to do the work instead of hiring them.

If AI works as promised, even the AI companies go out of business.

Malta doesn't just use electricity. Including all fuels they make only $11.5 / KWh While OpenAI is still massively profitable per kWH. Literally all we have to do is build more solar panels, this has been true for the last 20 years.

OpenAI ~$16.7 Billion ~1.0 TWh ~$16.70 / kWh
Google ~$385.5 Billion ~40.0 TWh ~$9.64 / kWh
Malta (National) ~$35.96 Billion ~3.11 TWh ~$11.56 / kWh

>so they expect to build 250 nuclear power plants in the US
geg rosatom is the only company that can actually deliver
>250 NPPs
>in the US
geg they'll have to buy the plants from rosatom. nobody else in the industry delivers on time and under budget

You've never done anything and never will. You do nothing like it's a full-time job, which for you it probably is.

Phonefags are so melodramatic. I've literally never owned a phone and function just fine. Slave mentality dictates that you must be a perpetual victim. It's not MY FAULT for picking up the fork the food industry made it addictive! How so? Added sugar and fat! the most addictive substance known to man!
OMG The infinite scrolling! it's literally heroin!

The aigrift must continue goy we couldn't have alternative energy before now, nuclear was LE BAD but now its ok for ai. And that's just the start, the line MUST go up

so thats only 7 multi reactor nuclear power plants (plus distribution etc) Sammi needs to produce out his ass every year for the next 8 years?
Why, that be less than one a month.

Build more power plants for the costly inefficient GPUs or you're going to hell. Stop asking chat.ai.woke about tech faggots.

Uses where LLM could have significant uses are ignored and virtually never talked about. Most people focus on memes, porn ans how to squeeze AI label on every product.
And corporate side of it is not helping because they actually want everyone to believe that their slop generator is the most important technology instead of just gimmick with niche legitimate uses.

I stopped using it once it became preachy, condescending and hyper-suspicious of the motives behind any question. No one should have to qualify themselves to an AI for talking about normal things it's marketed for ("ask anything"). Probably it is still fine for coding and IT work though, but creative, social, psychological or philosophical stuff, not so much anymore sadly. Since late 2025, you're running into guardrails all the time.

You'll just get planned rolling blackouts like in 70s England.
Enjoy your 13 hours of electricity a week from 10am to 1pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturday/Sunday from 4am to 6am.

>>
>>107762866
Yes, they're shitting their pants as we speak. For every one pound of shit that falls out of their asses, another trillion $ goes in their pockets, at the expense of your inconvenience, and you won't do shit because killing some random guy doesn't change anything and now we have empirical proof of that. All the while you cry and poison the well, the stakeholders rub their hands and mock you.

Yes retard, they just got bailed out by another company in the giant ainigger circlejerk bubble
