do i need to learn boring stuff about computers to be a real hacker?
>>

kind of. lots of people know just enough to buy some tools and do low level crimes to make some bitcoin.

Yes, if you want to become a real hacker you need to enjoy learning stuff on a deeper level than even engineers do.

Will 2026 be the year of Cottagecore? Many got a taste for the rural life during the pandemic and now the elite is dissatisfied with life in the big smoke:
>The quest for quiet in a dangerously noisy world
>Start the year without a bang: as two in five of the UK population suffer from harmful levels of noise, the search for silence in the home has newfound zeal
https://archive.is/VBdxC
>The European Environmental Agency reports that more than 20 per cent of people live in areas with “harmful” levels of transport noise — anything above 55 decibels (dB), comparable to the constant sound of percolating coffee. A House of Lords report found that number rises to 40 per cent for the UK. Noise is the largest source of complaints to local authorities in Britain, and governments across the world have often struggled to regulate the externalities of noise.
It quickly turns bizarre:
>Quiet has become a selling point for home decor. Let me turn your attention to the noise-reducing pouf. I have not yet sat on the BuzziDee Sound Absorbing Pouf (€417), but that’s why one creates bucket lists. The claims of the pouf are grand. Its 3D edges purport to diffuse sound and the foam body absorbs it.

What about suggestions for reputation management?

I live a quiet, normal life, but I've shitposted on here since the site's inception. A well-connected stalker found out and spent a decade convincing my local community that I'm all the worst things associated with this place.
About two years ago, I discovered I've been the Chris-chan of my town for years and have private groups dedicated to gossiping and stalking me online and IRL. You cannot fathom how elaborate the harassment has been, all ages 18-65 and including businesses and law enforcement. Everyone close in my life disappeared overnight without a word. I used to always find jobs quickly, but I've been completely unemployable in recent years.

Idk what to do. If I move, public data sites will leak my info soon. Any advice?
>>
>>107762714
If you are in the US, change name, move to a different place and then enlist. Blackmailers will always leak in the end anyway.

>“The lights of Caracas were largely turned off, due to a certain expertise that we have,” Trump said. Videos posted on social media appeared to show explosions across the city. The US Space Force and Cyber Command helped clear the way for the operation as the planes approached.
It is not clear if the expertise was in cyber attacks or just dropping bombs over the electricity systems. Hopefully, we will hear more soon.
>>
>>107763703

The Regime's power grid is unstable. Memezolans in the country constantly report lost of electric capabilities. It's a problem they has since forever.

A /cyb/ attack over critical infrastructure is a strategy used for long campaigns. Like Stuxnet for example, where the threat element cover the tracks under fog of plausible systemic error.

>There Is No One Left On Debian's Data Protection Team
https://www.phoronix.com/news/No-Debian-Data-Protection-Team
>Besides Debian's aging bug tracker interface, another challenge as the Debian Linux distribution project begins 2026 is that all volunteers have left their Data Protection Team. The Debian Data Protection Team deals with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) issues and related data protection/privacy related matters.
No doubt, Jia Tan will volunteer for this.

not so simple since your name change is published publicly (unless sealed). even if you go to one of the few places where they don't do that or you get it sealed, your new name will still be associated with your old one thanks to your ssn.

I've been in the application layer of security for a bit. Too much of a pussy to actually attack anything but I've been doing some amateur pen testing at work for the last few years and have found some neat exploits in our code.

I'm more interested in the physical side of things - anyone know any good resources on exploiting things at the wireless level? Wifi, bluetooth, other common radio protocols, etc.?

Threadly reminder to go read Fisheye Placebo for more cyberpunk goodness!
>Vance just wanted to make the most out of his college experience under a totalitarian regime, and if that meant hacking into the university to assign himself a hot female roommate, then so be it. The last thing he expected was to be dragged into a crazy conspiracy to overthrow the government by his most-definitely-not-female roommate.

Not that long ago, one anon mentioned he was writing short stories and published them on a site where people paid for stories. He earned a lot more than he had expected, even short stories. So if you write a short Solarpunk travelogue it would not be so incriminating that you would want crypto payments.

im so fucking close....but this shit just looks too good to be true....
is there any research out confirming they're just a wolf in sheep's clothing or am I gonna have to dig through it myself? I've got other platforms lined up just in case, but having this catch all "surface level" account for daily activities (the normie shit to keep people off my back) would be really fucking nice (bc le convenience)
I'm already pretty suspicious myself since they blatantly offer importing data over from (((google)))

>>
>>107789666
You can either create and manage your own domain or use paid alternatives. It's a smooth platform that does a great job at not removing important features and locking them under the terms and conditions to batch all your data into their AI (like Google did a few months back). There are other secure email platforms as well. So far proton hasn't done anything abysmally stupid. Are they protecting your data and guarding your privacy well? With every company you relinquish a piece of control to, it's always up in the air. There have not been back to back grotesque data breaches publicized as of yet.

They also routinely poll their user base for what features they want, which is why all these extra pieces pop up. They're developing a suite of tools to be competitive to major email providers. I think for maximum security you should still divide your accesses and recovery across different platforms. All-in-one is still a dangerous bet (when you aren't the forefront of your own security).
