A 5050 with DLSSQ on 1080p (even some 1440p) will play anything released to this day on High+ with zero issues.
Same goes for used 2070, 3060ti, 3070, 4060ti and AMD equivalents.
So it does not only apply to retro shit / indies, you don't need the top of the line hardware, the difference between High and Ultra in modern games is non-existant, some even have 0 difference between Medium and Ultra.
All you have to do is learn how graphical settings work in video games.
