Is this just Samsung bloat or is it actually good?
>>107762926why did they just copy tinted liquid ass?
>hardlocks the bootloaderfuck this
They updated my phone without asking after I denied updates since 2022. It's all the same shit. There's an extra-dark setting hidden somewhere in the labrynthian settings, but maybe that was in 7.
>>107762960You're supposed to update your phone to get firmware and software security patches.
>>107762951do there actually exist any alternative kernels for these phones? Last time I looked, nobody supports these newish samsung phones
OneUI 8.5, about the same as 8. The rumour about OEM unlock coming back may be correct but it's still missing on this Fold 7 internal build.
Used to have Samsung, Galaxy S6 and S9. Then went to Pixels 5a then 7. Currently on Pixel 7 and happy with it. Just wondering if Samsung still has redundant apps for everything and bad battery life? That and the Pixels' call screening is insanely useful.
>>107762926From my experience with two samsung foldables, they're basically the best non pixel android that I've ever used, from my experience everything usually just werks and werks mostly bug free, and the z fold phones from my experience are extremely great phones. But as always, the best android skin is the one in pixels, the problem is that the hardware it comes inside is pure shit.
>>107763024nope. last supported samsung for custom roms was the S20. better move on
based on op's pic you become muslim with the new ui so
>>107762926It depends if you are using their apps or not. I prefer Samsung's default apps over google's. The downside is you have to use a Samsung account
>>107762934they didn't liquid ass is pretty clever with the use of blur and highlights. Too bad it sucks.
>>107763024No. If you can't unlock the bootloader you can't load a custom ROM. At least for the US version they've removed the ability to unlock the bootloader, even for the "factory unlocked" version of their phones.I was considering a Samsung phone but found out about that and got a Motorola instead. I haven't actually unlocked it, because I haven't needed to, though I did get the unlock code for it from them and saved it. On a Samsung I'd have much more need to root because even as far back as my old S7 Edge, they loaded progressively more bloat and forced crap, and it's only gotten worse since.
>>107762926Imagine the result of engineers who are much worse than those at Google recreating everything from scratch
>>107764158>At least for the US version they've removed the ability to unlock the bootloader, with the S25 having snapdragon only and OneUI 8 removing the bootloader unlock option, it's not global.
im so jealous of liquid ass bros
>>107762970Just hack me already. Phones are toys, it's like being afraid of someone hacking my Wii or whatever.
>>107767637Many people use their phone for banking, many countries actually require an app for online banking. And malware can theoretically spread from your phone to the rest of the computers in your local network if you connect it to your wifi.
>>107767645>many countriesor several do I heard
Least worst option
>>107762926It's backdoored garbage
>>107764158shouldve unlocked it right away, now everything will get wiped and it will be a hassle when you do
>>107768739you should have good backup procedures for your phone anywaysthere is a ton of data on there you don't want to lose, and with modern anti-theft protection, it's a pain in the ass to get the data if even just the screen breaksDaily reminder to set up Wireless Debugging in the developer options and test is biyearly
good enough for me desui just recently bought a samsung and didnt even rice the phone or use any papes or anythingjust a plain ass phone with all the apps i use at the ready without ant bloatthe faster i can switch between apps the bettermight seem boring as fuck but at this point in my life its better than nothing
>>107762926>AI QuranHow is this allowed?
>>107762926there's probably 10 things in the menus that can't be disabled that I have to train my eyes to glance over and force myself to never accidentally tap. Most user unfriendly dogshit UI imaginable. It's unacceptable for "features" and "widgets" to be permanently enabled. I can't even turn off pushes for Digital Wellbeing on my scamsung
>>107764158the update to one UI8 locks the bootloader, even on boot-loader unlocked international models. While I and many others here care greatly about this, the world at large does not.>>107768859the large decrease in over all data and content that can be seen with oneUI7/8's padding and bullshit choices to force integrations with software and service I am not ever going to use basically had me so enraged using my s24 after the oneUI7 update (which happened despite having updates turned off?) I just ended up selling the S24 and returning to my old s10e. The UI is great and just works well on it.
>>107768825forget the data, all your installed apps and their settings is just annoying to deal with, Swift backup can do all of that (if you unlocked right away)
>>107762926Got an S25 FE like three months ago and I kinda regret it ngl. OneUI looks and works great, but it's filled with bloat. There's AI features that you can't get rid of, the anti spam call system is pretty bad (and also sells ur number to third parties), comes preloaded with Microsoft, Google and Samsung apps (some of these can't be deleted and its pretty annoying) and some parts of the OS are designed to be used with the full Samsung ecosystem.I've been thinking of selling this phone and getting a Pixel 7 Pro, that's how much I'm disliking it.
Reminder that since 2023, to use the Samsung Health app you must agree with them processing and selling away all of your information gathered therein like sleep quality measurements, heartbeat measurements, weight measurements, blood oxygen measurements, the food you note down, amount of steps, recorded runs and whatever else.
>>107762926Why are they copying apple?
