What's a good fit for someone who simply wants a long lasting full keyboard with a volume knob for around $100 USD? My rubber dome is starting to have issues after 21 years of service. I've tried out the Cherry KC 200 MX and that felt alright, but otherwise I know nothing of switches.

>>107767445I'd be very surprised if you got 20 years out of a Cherry MX keyboard. They're not designed for it.Not aware of any that at $100 with a knob that I'd consider long-lasting. I'm a little suspicious of Keychron, especially with hotswap. I've only had mine for a year or so, and I don't use it daily, but it's fine so far.

>>107767845Some of the best latency and software in a Hall effect imo. The V2 Lekker switches were decent for HE at the time when it launched, but there's better these days. Though being hot swappable you can always upgrade em to something like the Geon Raw HE, Gateron Jade Pro HE or w/e the current popular choice is for HE these daysI'm not deep in the keyboard rabbit hole, but Wooting has a modest community for modding. Build quality isn't top tier with an aluminum case or something, but still passable. It honestly just needs a refresh/update like some of their other boards have gotten - but given the limited good full sized layout HE options on the market atm, I still think it's a viable buy. I'm still waiting for my NyPhy to support analog controller emulation like my old Wooting

Any neon green keyboards?
Hello /mkg/, I've been using a cheap ass HP office slim (sk 2028?) for over 7 years now an its starting to give me issues (and the keys are very shinny and WASD are scratched/damaged from extensive use).>Pic related (not my actual keyboard but its the same model)This cheap piece of plastic gathers a bunch of key features I'd like in my next keyboard:>100% keyboard>low profile (really like this)>key distribution is nice and packedDownsides>kinda loud as fuckI cannot for the life of me get used to playing games on keyboards with those high profile / fat clickity clacks, but I'd love my keyboard to not make a shitload of noise as I tap away at it writing essays/works etc, or playing FPS, and the keyboard world is full of trash and overpriced stuff. Can the keyboard wizards of /mkg/ help? I know it's ridiculous to ask Mechanical Keyboard General for non-mechanical keyboard advice but I can't think of any other place to ask and I don't use reddit, and most of my friends either have loud ass keyboards or some bizarre 60% thing where they then can't perform misc actions on Arma3 >t. budget <100$
I want a hall effect keyboard for less than $100. any options for me?
>>107773759There's tons of chinesium stuff that'd fit the bill and they're all so similar it's kinda hard to name just one brand. You'll probably find at least half a dozen on amazon or aliexpress that you could try with minimal risk, at least with the former.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can buy a set of 35g NiZ switches.>>107775474Depends. Do you like the keyboard anyway? How often do you use the arrow keys? How much does that thing cost? If there's a group of keys you never use, maybe you could rebind those to be your arrow keys. The pricing on the upcoming Neo boards is crazy, didn't think they could go that low.

>>107777411so you count to 1 by raising your ring finger?odd.
Gateron Jupiter Red, Brown and Banana. Are any of these like MX Clears where the bump is before the actuation or are they all after like most switches?
>>107778019>bump after actuationhuh?
>>107778019MX Clears actually have the bump closer to actuation and I think part of the tactile event might happen during the actuation. Gateron Jupiter Reds are linears and the Browns and Bananas are all tactile bumps at the very top of the press instead of partway, so they're technically "before" but that kind of tactility feels a good bit different compared to Browns or Clears, or things like clickbar or click leaf switches.Personally I'm not much of a fan, they kinda feel like clunky linears or weaker rubber domes to me but other people go feral over that style of tactility.

Holy FUCKMX Blacks on Alu feels REAL GOOD
>>107780864In the future if you ever feel like trying other switches see if they have force curves, preferably done by third parties that look something like this. I guess manufacturer curves are good enough if all you care about it seeing how far down the tactile event is during the key press, at least from memory, but if you care about specific weightings do not trust manufacturer force curves at all.Though it's a good bet that if it's a newer tactile switch it's the "tactile at the top/front loaded tactile" and whatever else people call them. Ones that emulate Clears will sometimes say "Clear/Ergo Clear tactility" instead in their descriptions or specs.
>>107780935Averages 100-130.Been sticking with MT3 or similar.Tactile or clicky.>>107781369True, some people boast about high wpm and it's often all lowercase words with no punctuation. Typing at least medium length quotes and needing accuracy in the test is a far more comprehensive metric for giving legitimacy to someone's wpm. It's more impressive to type a sustained 110wpm for two paragraphs than 180wpm for 10 lowercase words.

Hey /g/uise. So I've been using my Keychron K10 for almost 5 years now and even though before just changing the switches was enough, I feel like it's about to die.I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard which has the same build quality and feel.I spend most of my time writing and coding, but I also do some light gaming (mainly DOTA).I also use MX Cherry blue, because I love the feel and my wrists/hands are heavy so I tend to type with a lot of strength. I honestly love how it feels but I might enjoy something slightly softer.Any help?
