yeah, that's one of the Crapple's gotchas. lots of brands do this, the entire product is good enough, but there is some achilles tendon that degrades the worthwhile lifespan of the device, makes it inoperable, tedious to repair, and prone to break while repairing.

Maybe just a simple case of not enough people actively caring about slight glossy keyboard wear. Fixing the issue would require research into new materials and lots of testing
