Is it possible to bring a CRT back home on a plane?
>>107767917Yes you intelligent person.
>>107767917>Is it possible to bring a CRT back home on a plane?yeah, but it will cost you per kg.
>>107767917Nope, its now technically a radioactive device. Needs special shipping
>>107767979
>>107767917just build your life around the CRT in Japan
>>107767917Yes, but TSA will destroy it on purpose once you return to US soil.
>>107767979i can only assume you're talking about how it uses leaded glass to filter x-ray radiation, but x-ray radiation has both nothing to do with nuclear radioactivity, and it can only possibly produce x-rays when it's turned on
u like trash? just live in the junkyard, anon
>>107767917>CRT :|>CRT, Japan :DJust grab a CRT in your country you fucking retard
>>107768152>>CRT, Japan :Dwell yes actually, the peak of the age of crts was also during japan's peak manufacturing age
>>107767917If you're wiling to pay any potential fees or make sacrifices, I can't imagine why not. Looks like you could stuff that into a backpack. Just reduce your carry-on packing to the essentials and whatever can't go into your check-ins.
>>107768152>>CRT, Japan :Dsometimes unironically yes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfZxOuc9Qwk
>>107768152I don't drive, so I can't get Facebook or Craigslist deals at home. Unironically it is easier for me to fly one in.
>>107767917105$ for dirty piece of shit that belongs to landfill
>>107768617Save the $100 and use it to go take your exam faggot, imagine not being able to drive in the most car dependent country on earth. Loser
>>107767917Fly yo ass to a goodwill nigga
>>107767917>colors and connections are badWhy would you want to?
>>107767917if you ship it via a shipping company yes
>>107767917Definitely cheaper and easier to ship it home
>>107768152this is one instance where "Japan :D" actually make sense, crt's peaked in the 90's/early '00s and so did japan's audio-visual manufacturing. the best crts were actually japanesethey had tv's nobody else did, like these widescreen high definition tv's in the '90s
>>107767917ジャンク品www
>>107769312https://youtu.be/WNci2jynJ7w
>>107767917Sure, why not? It's a VACUUM TUBE. That means that when you take it up to a higher altitude, there is LESS stress on the tube. Just be prepared for delays at checkpoints because they aren't prepared for dealing with gigantic blocks of electronics with suspicious voids on the X-rays. And if you pack it into baggage, put lots of padding around it so it doesn't get shattered when the baggage gorillas throw it across the room.
>>107767917>video8i actually need one of those, i have like 50 tapes that i need to digitalizealso sending it in some slow transport is probably cheaper
>>107767917if you would be not mentally disabled, you would not get that crap - or at least get it locally
>>107769537Ship it by airfreight. Take it to a professional freight packing company and pay them to box pack and construct a wooden crate for it. Surprisingly, airfreight and seafreight undergo much less scrutiny than check in luggage. It might cost you an extra few hundred bucks and a few extra weeks but it can be worth it for high value stuff. You can even insure the freight.
>>107769556are these any good?https://zenmarket.jp/es/auction.aspx?itemCode=k1212669003not that i would buy it right now but...
>>107768617>hey mom, can you give me a ride?>download Uber have a trip>pay $10 more so the crackhead at Craigslist delivers to your homeflying to Japan is the most retarded thing you could do to get a junk TV
>>107769080You're fucking retarded and "high definition" CRTs aren't even desirable for retroomers. You could just as easily post a Bang & Olufsen if you wanted a high quality 90s set with a gimmick. Meanwhile, Philips made the best tubes. Tranitrons are a meme unto themself thanks to Redditors and the "Japan :D" factor.
>>107770243>crackhead to your homeyeah good idea
>>107770385indeed, maybe you can blow him off and get the tv for free
