Whenever 64 bit OSs came out so 2006 I guess.64 bit memory addressing in consoomer applications is the exact point everything went wrong. You went from an assumption of having 4gb hard maximum, to the hard limit being so high it's effectively infinite and being allowed to take up 8gb per fucking web browser tab because you can just call the consoomer a poorfag instead of actually optimizing anything.Processors have actually gotten SLOWER per core since, because fuck it, there's high speed memory and lots of it. And there hasn't been any real development that has helped the world since.
