Stop trolling and lying. OP has been ruining SPG for months by hijacking it and constantly posting fake misinformation. Posting old iPhones like the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 15 is not on topic or about a warranty at all. First of all Apple has way better customer service than any company globally, because they have multiple stores in every country that you can visit in person for service when your phone has an issue and everybody knows the warranty is only for one year unless you purchase the extended Apple Care which grants you a lot more better service. You are just lying and making things up and ruining the thread just like the op.

I stopped using my s10+ three years ago, and recently turned it back on to test some apps I'mm writing, and it is better than my year-old motorola phone. The screen is clearly nicer and easier to look at it and it's still blazing fast. I feel like a complete idiot for upgrading and getting something worse. I might buy a new s10+.

Any thoughts on S25+ vs S25 Ultra? Family is moving carrier, so we need to change. They'll cover the phone, but I'm not sure if I should get an S25+ ($0/mo for 3y plan) or an S25 Ultra (I think $5/mo for 3y plan). Coming from an S10+ for reference. I like larger displays (like for reading books), and then the pen and slightly better cam seem neat (plus cool material/cover differences), but that's still $180 over 3y. Worth it? Not sure if I could trade my S10+ in to cover it or not, though I kind of want to keep it as a dedicated PMP and media controller too.
>>
>>107771710
9a is the best phone. It's hardware is also better than any in terms of security, including Apple.

What about it made you want to switch up? Sounds cool, I just can't tell how it'd impact me personally, at least for $180 over 3y. Do you think I'd notice the size bump much with manga/novels or video that much?

how can I get the most life out of my xz1 compact?
I've had it since launch and currently have the US stock rom + fingerprint reader mod flashed to it.
I can still get around a day and a half of battery, but it needs to be on stamina mode. Without stamina mode I get around a day.

Will LineageOS or something similar help? I like the phone and want to keep using it as long as possible, even if that means replacing the battery eventually
>>
Do any of you who have used a phone with a stylus actually find it useful? I Hear the S25 Ultra doesn't even have bluetooth in the pen anymore. I can't really see what'd it'd be used for unless you could use it like a drawing tablet synced to PC.

Well for me it was the 200MP meme zoom camera. It's pretty handy if you ever have the need for it. It also feels much more solid in your hands vs the +. The S24+ felt like a toy by comparison when I first held the ultra. If camera not that important then the s25+ is plenty of screen size.
>>
>>107776334
I see. Family went around and picked phones, got the S25+ in a box here now. Could have gotten the Ultra if I asked, but oh well, still seems nice. Size seems virtually identical to my S10+ (which I'm still using before turning the new phone on). I wonder if you can feel the extra screen real estate when reading (maybe time to just get a reading tablet...). In any case, I guess my S10+ will become my new dedicated PMP or something now. On a side note,

It used to be that if you had more than 1 phone, you were a drug dealer. People seeing tech reviewers with, and talking about having 2 devices is making average people think they need the same. I'm upgrading from a Note 20 Ultra before we get fucked by the RAM shortage and I narrowed it down to Galaxy S25 (base) vs Pixel 10. I would like something smaller and they fit the bill, but I am on the fence about some issues. The Pixel 10 looks more easy to repair (with genuine parts available from ifixit) and less bloated, but the Tensor G5 seems to be a couple of generations behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite in all metrics of CPU/GPU performance. I don't do any gaming on my phone, but I'm reading reports of laggy Pixel 10s (even Pro versions) when taking multiple high resolution pictures or videos, and this is unacceptable for a phone which is marketed as a flagship. Any thoughts?

galaxy note 7 was so long ago and has nothing to do with any of this. Also apple does not allow sideloading. Sideloading in Europe is non existent because you can't sideload ipa files with altstore. Sidestore uses an exploit to workaround apples walled garden and it's nothing like sideloading on Android. Also phones are blowing up all the time to this day even iPhones. I know you wanna defend but your combat is kinda weak here
>>
>>107786313
Way more devices from other manufacturers blew up this year than any other smartphone. You are just trying to start arguments by nitpicking and spreading misinformation as usual. Sideloading is for installing altstore or sidestore which can be done without a PC or with; and installing IPA files with certs is something else also done without a PC. I know you're not being sincere at all because you play games like this all the time in spg and this isn't the first time I had to correct your made up posts.

Need advice for a new phone

I use it mainly for doom scrolling, videos, streaming music to car BT, taking a lot of pictures, hoarding media and occasionally I use it as a usb flash memory stick.

Hardware wise most important to me is good display, long battery life and good camera. Old phone has 3x optical and 10x digital zoom and even though those pictures are very low quality i find myself using it very often to see objects in the distance so Im really looking forward to a new phone with even larger zoom.

Software wise priority is consistent smooth performance, but not at cost of bare-bones OS. I love well thought out, built in features. Like good stock photo editor, scrolling screenshots, text from image with auto translate etc

I have narrowed it to these
>S25U
Ticks all the boxes. Im only shying away from it because I find it a bit too large for my taste and with those sharp corners it doesnt look comfortable to use for a long time. Also I dont care for stylus
>S25+
This is the obvious choice. It's just a bit bland and boring desu and since I use my phones for a long time Id hate to not go for the top tier model especially when it is less than 100 $ difference. It might be the most logical option because when novelty wears off in a month or so it wont matter if it's S25+ or U or whatever, right?
>OnePlus 15
I love a lot about this phone. Battery and charging speed, performance and short, smooth animations the design especially in matte black. Never owned OP so it would be nice to try it out. What puts me off is reviews I read and saw online talking about camera being worse than last years model (and even that one wasnt on par with apple, samsung, pixel of that time). The other thing is, the display, at least in videos, doesnt look as good as one on S25U/+

Widcard option
>iphone 17 pro
I love how good it is at taking videos, also display looks great and it might be nice to take a break from android os.

what do?

Just get a OnePlus 15 for the huge battery alone. The camera is somewhat of a downgrade from the OnePlus 13 but it's really not as bad as people make it out to be. You'll only ever notice the difference in low light, and even then you usually have to zoom in. Sometimes image quality is actually better due to the different processing. UltraHDR support is also nice to have and isn't a gimmick if you know how weird smartphone camera HDR tonemapping can look in traditional SDR.

Also, the display definitely isn't as good as the S25U's but it's not exactly bad or mediocre or anything. I will mention that auto brightness on OP phones is broken and they still haven't fixed it. Technically OnePlus 13 is supposed to boost to 1200 nits under direct sunlight but mine rarely fucking works when I turn it on, so I'm actually limited to somewhere around 800 nits when I really need the extra brightness. My S23U immediately boosts to 1200 nits under direct sunlight without fail every single time so if sunlight legibility matters to you I'd go for the S25U.

>Just get a OnePlus 15 for the huge battery alone.
Battery is really tempting me to go with i. Would be so nice to only have to charge every second day and only for like an hour.
>The camera is somewhat of a downgrade from the OnePlus 13 but it's really not as bad as people make it out to be.
>Also, the display definitely isn't as good as the S25U's but it's not exactly bad or mediocre or anything
I guess you are right: Both are massive improvement over my current phone and its not like I will have both to compare side by side and regret going with wrong one

What are your thoughts on oxygen vs oneui? Is there something missing from one that the other has and which one do you prefer?

Had an S23U for a couple years and used the stylus once in a blue moon. I have no idea why Samsung still sticks to it. Not only is the stylus too small and thin to write comfortably with as someone with big hands but the screen is also too small to use the stylus on it comfortably as well as do anything meaningful. I've also heard it's good for use in professional settings but when has being on your phone in a professional setting ever been socially acceptable? I just don't get why it's still a selling point. It's nice in the off chance I need to write or draw something but 99% of the time I don't need to do either of those on my phone

OOS is way more responsive/smooth than OneUI but it's a blatant dupe of iOS, doesn't have nearly as many features and has some small bugs here and there. It's not necessarily barebones but it just doesn't have as many features as OneUI.

OneUI is by far the most refined and has the most features but it's almost to a fault IMO. People shill Samsung for muh Good Lock but they never mention that it's not pre installed or anything and that you have to go to the Galaxy Store, find it and download the app, then you have like 10+(?) separate apps within the Good Lock app to choose from that offer extra control over a bunch of very specific things. It's undoubtedly an impressive feature and I've used it myself but as a first time user you have to kind of jump through some hoops to get to it, and when you do get to it you're hit with a barrage of customization features. I wish it was just integrated into the settings or throughout the UI from the jump.

Also, OneUI isn't consistently smooth. 6.1.1 could be very smooth but when it hitched or dropped frames you'd notice it every time. OneUI 7 was supposed to be the update that leveled the playing field with Chinese OEMs but that was bullshit and fine tuning the animations didn't help. For this reason I prefer OOS. It reminds me of PixelUI on the 6 Pro a lot in this regard. That phone and the OnePlus 13 actually feel like flagships when you use them while the S23U feels worse than a midrange phone from 2-3 years ago at times.

hey guys, thinking of selling my S25 FE is due to all the bloat and Samsung shit, didn't like One UI as much as I thought I would.

Do y'all think that a Pixel 7 Pro is still worth? Costs like €200 on Amazon, seems fine to me and supports both GrapheneOS and Lineage.

my other option would be an iPhone, but they're hella expensive. I'm NOT paying €350 for a nearly 5 year old iPhone 13. really like iOS but I can't justify this price.
