>this kills the /g/ poster>having to order a new fan when they break>having to take apart your laptop with 999 screws and ribbons and crap just to replace one part.>having to open your laptop and blast out the dust to make it run well again. When are we going to stop needing fans to cool our laptops to max performance?
>>107773956Don't forget how they're also very loud even if they're working properly.
>>107773956Cleaning or replacing a laptop fan is not hard, and there are plenty of laptops already on the market that aren't cooled with fans at all. Kill yourself fag.
>>107773998>and there are plenty of laptops already on the market that aren't cooled with fans at allName 3 other than the macbook air
>>107773987>Don't forget how they're also very loud even if they're working properly.imagine, if you will, not owning a pair of anc headphones in the year of our lord 2026
>>107773987Basically all laptops have underspecced cooling. Don't even have to build Gentoo on them to get hairdryers.
>>107773987>Don't forget how they're also very loud even if they're working properly. And the ton of software written just to try to keep them under control that people obsess over tweaking.
Sorry I'm not poor enough to use a laptop. I use a desktop. Can't relate at all.
>>107773998This depends on the laptop. On my toshiba it was a matter of taking off the back cover and the fan was right there. On my current HP pavilion it's a matter of disassembling it down to the motherboard, just short of removing the CPU/heatsink from the motherboard itself. Laptops are really not make to be repeatedly opened, each time puts stress on the ribbon cables and the chassis. Probably fine if you're the type of person that throws laptop away after 3 years but otherwise
>>107773956You don't even need a fan for your laptop, nothing will happen if you block it or disconnect the fan unless you're using a gaymer laptop in which case you're a retard for buying one anyway.
>>107773956watI take my laptop apart every 6 months or so to clean it because the vents get caked in dust and never had a problem removing or disassembling this.
>>107773956mine is loud as fuck but has worked for 10 years flawlessly I just clean it every 6 months
>>107774176>I take my laptop apart every 6 months or so to clean it because the vents get caked in dustyour house must be a mess. i bet you have carpets lol.
Still works after 15 years used for hours every single day
>>107773998This.Whiners needs to get off gI can't fucking take your bitching
>>107774214I do have carpets and try to keep the place clean, but the issue with this laptop is that the vent is too far away from the fan, so all it does is accumulate dust in the middle. It also runs hot, so the fans are running most of the time.
>>107773956>repasted dvfucking6>somehow motherfucker making grinding noises
>>107773956Not my problem. Buy a fanless laptop
>>107774010I accept your concession
>>107774321>melts when you try to do anything more intensive than watching a youtube video
Opening a laptop is barely even a chore.
>>107774377>still mogs the competitionwow
>>107774377>implying macfaggots ever do more than watching gay porn and reading their emails
>>107773956Honestly I don't see why people find this hard. It is a hassle but it's nowhere near having to replace a keyboard
>>107774377My Macbook Air has never gotten hot and I play light games on it
>>107774047Headphones are bad for you and also uncomfortable.
>>107775329But you have to remove the keyboard to clean replace the fan...?Unless you didn't consider that not every laptop is your own, in which case of course you don't see why, because you are ignorant and retarded
>>107775329>Honestly I don't see why people find this hard.depends on the laptop
>>107774756>Opening a laptop is barely even a chore.it depends on which one you buy
>>107773956I wonder how many /g/-tards fell for this one:>order a "gaming" laptop with a fancy video card>the video card has to throttle itself because the fan can't keep up with it>no refunds>thank you for buying a "gaming" laptop
>>107776167>the video card has to throttle itselfIt's even worse when you take into account that those throttling GPUs are already cucked and power limited by design
>>107773956It's only a problem because /g/faggots use ancient 15 year old laptops.
>>107773956>Struggling with laptop fan replacement
>>107776167>I wonder how many /g/-tards fell for this one:Every idiot who bought a "gaming laptop" which is 1/4 of /g/
>>107774321>melts to Virtual MachinesLMAO.
>>107773956I also hate the noise
>>107773956>When are we going to stop needing fans to cool our laptops to max performance? If you want max performance you don't buy a craptop to begin with. Like saying you want a sports car but you go and buy a PT Cruiser.
>>107773998>Kill yourself fag.No, you're the only one who should do it
okay yeah, I can get behind this thread.>tiny laptop faggot fan barely cools at all>truly the nigger of fans as it refuses to do real work>packed so tightly in that the smallest amount of dust clogs it>can be a ritual of screws and bullshit to get the fan out>you need the exact screws or the fan vibrates horribly>even when the fan is "working" its loud as fuck>go through all that, laptop still overheatsfuck i hate these pieces of shit so much
>>107773956I just cool my laptop with ice lol
>>107775329If your laptop is hard to replace the keyboard on, it's a shitty fucking laptop. I have a Thinkpad Yoga with a trick keyboard that sucks the buttons and trackpoint in when you flip it around, and it's still just 6 screws and a bit of finagling to put all the tabs in the right places to replace after you take the mobo out. Less work than replacing the thermal paste desu. Some laptops outright have keyboards that can be replaced from the top, Framework does that, I had old Thinkpads and Dells that do that. Just because your Macbook has five layers of glue on the board doesn't mean it's like that everywhere.
>>107774915I play Bully with PCSX2.
>>107773956I had an ASUS that this was a real chore on. Now I have a Framework so this shit is so easy a literal toddler could handle it and I don't intend to buy any other brand.
>>107776190old laptops had thick pipes adequate for their 35W behemothsnu-laptops are all about gayness and thin and more gay
>>107773956>When are we going to stop needing fans to cool our laptops to max performance?Fanless macbook air for portable stuff.Desktop I built at home.
>>107773956I haven't opened and cleaned mine in years. It warms me in the winter time.
>>107773956You must be joking. I took my laptop apart and put it back together in 15 minutes.
>>107774915>>107774377I render and model on a spec'd out MacBook regularly with no issues. You sound poor lol
>>107784868>I haven't opened and cleaned mine in years.lazy loser
>>107773998the hardest part is finding the correct replacement, most of the time if its not a major brand replacements are OOS and/or not made anymore
