AI's widespread adoption sole purpose is to make the masses even dumber by removing their ability to think critically.
>>107774426>hammer's widespread adoption sole purpose is to make the masses even less skilled with the rocks by removing their ability to choose different kind of rocks and using them with skillit's just another tool
>>107774426>sole purposeThere's other reasons like destroying the fabric of perceived reality and total surveillance
>>107774426the adoption does not have "purpose" because it is not directed. a company makes a good product, releases it for free. people use it.this is like saying gmails "purpose" was to make it so people forget how IMAP works. a consequence is only professionals bother to set up an inbox, why would you when you can get one set up for you, on servers with 100% uptime and huge capacity, for free?
>>107774426AI is a multiplier. If you use it to learn, it makes you smarter. If you use it to think for you it makes you dumber.
>>107774426Toilet paper's widespread adoption sole purpose is to make the masses even stinkier by removing their ability to clean their asses.
>>107774724>think criticallyAI doesn't do that for you. It follows corporate policy and guardrails
Around 2019, I was in a religious studies elective that most people at my college took. Toward the end of the semester, we were assigned a paper in which we had to derive a narrative of our own from a specific theology book and argue in favor of it. Normies in my class absolutely chimped out over this, and I remember their crying in class when we showed up for finals that the meaniepants professor was gonna cause them to fail and they might be slightly delayed in completing their Exercise Science and Psychology degrees. I didn't even follow most of the prof's detailed formatting instructions because I procrastinated and did the paper in the four hours before it was due, but still got a 90, which he basically rationalized as "you didn't fuck this up as badly as everyone else" in his comments. tldr; normies were never able to think critically, and if you really wanted to pick one central purpose behind generative systems development, it would be for military R&D purposes, not useless LLM shit with diminishing returns.
>>107776986I forgot to word it this way, but the reason the normies were so mad is because they couldn't just paraphrase the text, in case it wasn't clear.
>>107774426ai is preparation for the post ww3 future world where all people are too stupid to do basic tasks.
the same could be said of television
Wokeshit already did that.

>>107774426People are retarded now because we destroyed our education system decades ago and now you're seeing the fruits of it. AI is a crutch for those retards to function.
