Hi,I have a oukitel wp22 that was gifted to me after I lost my last phone. very unexpected but the thing is a fucking tank.Usually I don't really care about phones, dismissing it as jeetism, however I've been playing around with rooting it and I can see the possibilities with using a rooted rugged phone for remote technology projects.seeing as I haven't found a thread on the 4plebs archive I thought it was smart to open one up here.Processor: MediaTek Helio P90 (MT6779)RAM: 8GBStorage: 256GB (expandable via microSD)Display: 6.58-inch FHD+ (2408x1080), 90Hz, Scratch-resistantBattery: 10000mAh with 9V/2A charging, supports reverse chargingOperating System: Android 13Cameras: 48MP Main, 20MP Night Vision, 2MP MacroFront Camera: 16MPAudio: 36mm 125dB Multimedia SpeakerDurability: IP68/IP69K/MIL-STD-810H (Waterproof, Dustproof, Drop-resistant)Connectivity: NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, OTGSecurity: Face ID, Fingerprint Recognition (on some listings) On my PD display for some reason 18w USB-A to USB-C displays 20w of charging which I find curious, and the regular usb-c to usb-c displays around 16w of power draw.another thing which i found helpful is that scancom atleast in the uk does 3gb a month for around 30 months pre-paid for £35, which is great for somewhat remote capabilities, though it would be nice to attach a huge antenna on the thing and ease of rooting to make it easier to scale up on remote tech projects (as opposed to using a pi or arduino etc).If anyone else is more informed than me with rooting I've bricked the freaking thing after I decided to update OTA in recovery mode despite the fact it was working OK. I'm trying to resolve this now.
download the firmware image and flash it in fastboot or whatever
>>107780853thx
fecks sake i was caught up on fastboot/adb step this morning and last night, because I was using a usb without any data transfer capabilities. :|well atleast im relatable to the retards who browse on here
mediatek has a different fastboot environment to the fastboot given in android platform tools. I think this is important for me to share.
Godspeed OP
>>107781749fucking lol, throw that chink dogshit in the trash right away
here are some downloads, whatever is happening my pc won't detect my fastboot mode, would get an SD card and USB but I don't like the idea of shilling out a long walk and £15 to get both.https://oukitel.com/pages/download-center DNS R16T卡升级包 23-5-10 s930a-yjs1... 23-8-2 s930a-yjs1... 23-12-4 s930a-yjs1... otapackage--R20.zip s930a-yjs109-a1-2... >>107783554what do you think is a better use of time

>>107780814Sell it for $250-300, buy https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/ or https://grapheneos.org/faq#recommended-devices and enjoy best Android experience you can buy in the future. I bought OnePlus 7 Pro for $50 4 months after release because it "had broken OS" and warranty did not cover "customer tinkering with it" (normie was too non-tech-savvy to root it and bricked it) and even to this day I have the latest Android on it LineageOS 23.0 (Android 16).
>>107783721not wasting it on a $0.01 usb cable

This has been a lot of effort and I'm not autistic so if I need a rooted phone in the future I'll pick up a second hand phone that lineage has developed for.
