OLED chads, LCDs are relevant again. Our response?
VAgods how we feeling?
does this introduce input latency?
>>107783179OLED was never ideal unless you consistently view it in a dark room. It has higher contrast but lower peak brightness.
>>107783179https://github.com/mausimus/ShaderBeam
I still use tn.
>>107783361perceived brightness is higher if black levels are lower thoughbeit
>>107783179>>107783361>>107783490who the fuck cares when every game is shit
I just want plasmas and CRTs back
>>107783452pretty cool i tried the browser demo it does have visible flicker but theres no blur on the scrolling image
>>107783179I'm unimpressedULMB2 looks sharperWaiting for that Ferroelectric Field Sequential Color LCD(20 microsecond response time)
>>107783452This is not bad, I need a higher refresh monitor
It's all the same seething drone making this threads
>>107783638Just go to a thrift store bro. The tech's never coming back because almost nobody wants it back.
>>107783179Stop being an elitist, and enjoy the tech you have. Your screen resolution, refresh rate, and contrast, and clarity didn't suddenly become worse because a good LCD exists. It doesn't need to be the very best at everything so long as it is good.
>>107783179>>107783452looks like it gives you a fucking migraine
>>107783179LCDs will never be relevant again, OP.
>>107783179>insane motion clarity
>>107783452Is there really no way to get rid of the yellow border on windows 10?
>>107783179>LCDs are backcan we bring back the rest of the late 90s early 2000s tech too?
>>107783452its horrible to use actuallyyou need to change like 10 windows setting and experience lots of screen flicker opening it up and it doesnt work properly in games, it dims the screenwhat you want is eitehr the lcd pulsar tech, or nvidia frame gen and using a high hz oled screen
anyone know if pulsar will work with AMD GPUs since it's technically a monitor thing?
>>107785489Monitors unboxed said its nvidia only. Its aimed at esports folk, and they will 100% of use nvidia gpus anywaynormal users wont spend 800$ on lcd monitor when oled exist
>>107785524>normal users wont spend 800$ on lcd monitor when oled existdont think normal users would spend over $400 on any monitor anyways
>>107783179>Our responseInstant.
>>107785524>normal users wont spend 800$ on lcd monitor when oled existthey're starting at $599. oh well, still not buying nvidia GPUs
>>107783452>Disable HDR, it's not currently supportedinto the trash it goes
>>107785489no but any oled worth its salt has BFI
>>107785915not equivalent since you need 240Hz to get 120Hz effective refresh rate with BFI. I know it's marketing but they're talking about 360Hz providing over 1000Hz effective refresh rate
>>107785487anon that repo started on christmas, give it time to improve
>>107787351Pulsar is literally the same thing except 100 times bettertheres no point
>>107783452Still a pale imitation of the true power of the electron gun
>>107784774actually i'm jewish and i want it back, so that means it's important
>>107790333Doesn't matter when it works. When even RTings says it's 87.5% motion blur reduction for 60fps on 480 Hz monitors. Will be even better on OLED panels. Can't wait for 480Hz+ 4k OLEDs now. Don't even have to run the content at the refresh to get the benefit.
>>107783179Can't hear you over this perfect contrast
>>107790393any hint of when that would come? or we gonna be waiting beyond 2030
>>107790973We already have 480Hz 4k OLED panels, the bottleneck is the interfaces, DisplayPort and HDMI. You can currently only do 1080p 480Hz on those 4k OLEDs.
>>107790393OLEDs always have the degradation issuethey dont like running the pixels at high volts, and to produce short bright pulse you need to up the brightness as much as you can if they can validate that high nit burst behavior to not cause burn in issues a tech like pulsar might be implemented>>107790991Isnt the issue the scalar chips, dp 2.1 cables can do around 700hz at 4k with display stream compression
>>107783179relevent and cheaply made are 2 differnt things.
There's a 720hz oled out there already 720p just like the csniggers like itThe response times of even TNs pale compared to OLEDs, those things overshoot up the wazoo at 500 while an oled could perfectly portray 2000
