Private investors.

All start ups are private companies because that makes easier to bullshit and use obscure financing.
Their goal is being acquired (aka being a PITA for larger companies) or reach the IPO with enough smoke and mirrors to sell out the shares at the high pressure before its value is too low and ending as penny stock.

They still lie but not as much as private company that plans to go public does.

Toyota claimed they were working on a solid state battery ever since 2010. Every year they say they have a "working prototype". You can go back to as early as 2019 for them saying they have it, and will show case it at the Tokyo Olympics (didn't). Every year since then, they say "next year".

Toyota works on the same Elon timeline of the Tesla Roadster coming out in 2017.

I based the graphene battery claim on the idea that a solid state and uses no Rare Earth materials. Also that it has a near instantaneous charge rate. All of those are also benefits of graphene batteries which are basically carbon capacitors with massive capacity. I'm dubious as to these guys have been the ones to figure it out, you can easily build a graphene battery yourself on the bench but scaling to production and having it survive daily use is the real problem
>>

Nothing. The world is awash with shitty luxury EVs that depreciate dollars a day despite all the gay fancy tech, because underneath it all lies the even gayer hassidic panopticon. We want the Ford Focus version of a BYD Dolphin with a price to match and will also last 20 years that only communicates to let you know its fucked up somehow.
>>
>>107805940
Well if they are cheaper than lithium and provide similar or greater power density, we would at least see phones and laptops that only take minutes to fully charge rather than hours and last for days rather than hours. Cars charging in minutes would also be a massive improvement
>>
>>107805881
So imagine if a battery the size of a modern 9 V battery had the equivalent amount of power as a Tesla EV. What sort of changes would you expect to see? Everything would have a small battery in it, power tools, handheld would become much more powerful. Scooters and motorcycles would be more powerful and faster. Cars would be smaller and lighter. You might actually see a passenger flying EV commercially. Getting power density up is massively transformative to a society.
>>
>>107788513

Absolutely this. Right now the company is probably clamoring for investors because its running short on cash, and so it's putting out wild claims like this. I imagine they'll be dissolving soon.
>>
>>107805979
Even if it did exist, it can't be both better and cheaper. Where do you think the silver solid state batteries are going? These losers have done the math, and most people, even with gas cars, only make 3 or 4 trips of more than 100 miles one way a year. So people with electric cars either budget for the extra time, carpool and rent a larger vehicle, or use their other gas car to make the trip. No one except the stupid will buy the newer tech, which will inevitably come with more spyware panopticon bullshit, just to save a combined hour driving 3 states/provinces/countries over to visit extended family. EREVs will make even pickup trucks get 45mpg highway without ever stopping to charge.

Finns are generally very honest and it would be a total social, business and academic suicide for that company if they are scamming with this. >I give this a higher chance of being legit

Might want to take few more English lessons if you somehow thought that means that "Finns have never and will never scam people."
Yeah no shit there's scams happening in every nation you idiot.
However when it comes to the frequency of scams and how readily people engage in activity of getting money from investors for nothing, the chance of it happening is radically lower in Finland compared to practically any other place on earth.
Especially when the claim is that they have a finished product ready to ship. It's a bit hard to milk the investor for infinite money if you already claim to have a finished product ready to be produced.
If it's a scam it's the worst possible way of going about it, because investors will simply say
>Show me the product and give us the data
and if they don't have the finished product or the data, then the money won't be invested. Simple as that.
