>>107790931To run Windows on ARM platforms.
>>107790891Originally for better laptop/mobile battery life. But it seems Lunar Lake has made that redundant. Kinda sucks for them since they put a bunch of work into making arm windows work and the prism emulator. Maybe arm will get better again but Intel made a serious comeback in that segment.
>>107790891>Use case?Trying to stay relevant. But Windows ""people"" are just gaymers and employees and 90% of the time, they have a x86 Desktop PC with a monitor at work or at home.ARM people have a Macbook, Chromebook, Phones and iPads. But I'm glad Microsoft is pushing ARM, that means more devices and hopefully 1 day a good alternative to a Macbook, where we can install Linux.

>>107790891So you can spend 5k usd on an overglorified android soc that'll double as a doorstop when microslop stops supporting it because nobody wants to fix the disaster required to make a goddamn arm sbc boot.

Confusing Indian help desk agents for companies who's legacy application checks for x86 windows and then states it's the wrong Operating System.
To put a fire under intel/amd for mobile computing. Now arm efficiency is on mobile x86 chips.

Most devs learn to program on arm due to Apple/Mobile, x86 is legacy slop. About 300 million x86 cpus are made each year compared to 10 billion arm cpus.
